Psst...want some WotLK alpha talent info?
As you may have noticed, Blizzard sent us a request that we remove unreleased information relating to spells and talents in Wrath of the Lich King, and we have chosen to comply with that request. However, obviously that cat is out of the bag (and was before we got there), and if you want to find that information, one good place to look for it is the Wotlk leaks wiki. From flight paths to pictures to spells and talents (including those for Death Knights) to profession information, that wiki is a great resource for unreleased information. Obviously this is stll alpha information, and everything is unfinished and changeable -- if any of you were playing WoW in alpha or beta, you know how much things changed before release (and after). Still, it's nice to get a glimpse of what's in store.

Can I just say: bobble head Arthas?
Derick May 20th 2008 5:00PM
it seems to have been wiped anyways.
Slaign May 20th 2008 5:11PM
While I appreciate your attempts to appease our needs while covering your asses, what did you expect to happen when you posted a link to a wiki? Now it's been wiped clean, and even if it hadn't we'd not be able to trust anything on it anymore. This may have beem a useful resource for a small amount of people that knew about it, but now you have ruined it by linking it to your massive audience. Stupid.

Looks back to normal for me. That's the thing about wikis -- you can't actually erase anything, you just make a new version. And it's just as easy to revert as to vandalize.
Slaign May 20th 2008 5:20PM
I see, I admit I don't know much about Wiki technology. But it has been drilled into me that the more people who know about a wiki, the less reliable it is, by my professors.
I apologize for coming off so aggressive. I do appreciate your efforts.
Still I advise everyone to be careful what they believe from a wiki, a smart malicious editor will edit small things to make it appear the same, etc.
It would be great to have this information passed through someone with at least a bit of credibility and journalistic integrity (investigating the source, etc.)
Eliah Hecht May 20th 2008 5:23PM
I have multiple independent sources confirming this information for me. What's on the wiki right now is legit. Of course, it could always be changed, but that's mostly a good thing -- it can be updated as new info comes to light. If you're worried about getting misinformed, just look at the old versions under the history.

I'm absolutely astonished that a blue-chip, top-notch company like Blizzard released an alpha version of 'Wrath' to friends and family, knowing full well that all of this information would leak -- and has not simultaneously made these talent updates official in a press release or news update! Seriously, this is AMATEUR HOUR.
Come on guys, stop attacking websites and discover how to use PR to your best advantage. LOL.
Manatank May 20th 2008 5:23PM
Perhaps because they are still working on talents and spells, and don't want to listen to everyone qqing about what an outrage certain talents and spells are? This info isn't even close to final. Why would they put it out there as official?
Tim May 20th 2008 6:02PM
What I mean is that if you know that these details are going to appear all over the web, why deliberately play catchup?
Instead, have a blue post notes describing each of the talent trees as they stand in each forum or on the Wrath site in some way, stating that they are all subject to change.
Right now, without their participation, people are viewing these talents and thinking they are final, and some sites are making up their own fake talents, etc.
This is just basic PR 101.
Warcloud May 20th 2008 5:21PM
Hm. Is posting a link to the leaked info really that much more acceptable to Blizzard than posting the info yourselves? I don't see that much of a difference.
Naix May 20th 2008 5:23PM
Blizzard if your reading this...
Give Priests Holy Form!
15% more healing 15% faster mana regen
Glows with holy power
Thats all we want.

It seems to me this website needs an editor. Not a grammar nazi -- just someone with an ounce of common sense to say Yay or Nay to the articles the staff produces.
90 percent of what you guys publish is great. The content is good, and you give a nice forum for people to talk warcraft.
But that other 10%? Jesus. When you people screw up, you do it triumphantly. Adam's post on the guildie, the posting and then retracting of Lich King info, and now this post directing readers to some other website for the info you gave and took away? Amateur hour.
Those posts all have one thing in common -- not one of those would have made it past a sensible editor, myself included.
Jono Stars May 20th 2008 5:59PM
I don't normally comment, but geez, at least take the other posts off the site...makes you look like hypocrites...
Eddie May 20th 2008 6:03PM
I went to the wiki and there was a meatspin -.-
Dru May 21st 2008 6:39PM
Me too. :( Unexpected, and very unpleasant.
Eliah Hecht May 20th 2008 6:07PM
Yikes! Well, that too seems to have been reverted. At the moment it's back to its pleasant and informative self.
Eddie May 20th 2008 6:13PM
Downside to being a wiki D=<
On the other hand, the intro music is epic!

I think my shaman isnt going to like this skill...he doesnt ever want to drain anybodys semen.
(Unknown name) - "Halts the passage of time, freezing all enemies within $r1 in place for $d. This attack applies 5 Shock Charges to each affected target draining all semen.
kr3wman May 20th 2008 6:30PM
I wonder what "Shock Charges" are.
Jim Wright May 20th 2008 6:34PM
Whoa, now WOW Insider is sending me to a porn site. I guess I need to find another news site that does not do this.
