Music from the Wrath of the Lich King login screen
Allegedly, this is the music that you'll hear at the Wrath of the Lich King log-in screen. I love it! It achieves just the right blend between savage and graceful, haunting and heroic, and of course it contains the main WoW motif that we all have come to know and hum at inappropriate times (or is that just me?). I've seen this file in a couple places now, and if it is fake, it's extremely well-done. Kudos to Blizzard, assuming it's not fake; this is another piece in a long line of great atmospheric music.

"We're sorry, this video is no longer available."
um....wtf....Then what is the point of the post!?
you suck, and this article sucks. Make up your goddamn minds about whether or not you want to show this information.

You're not too bright are you?
" This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Blizzard Entertainment." It's not WI's fault.
Fojar May 20th 2008 7:08PM
There is absolutely no way that this is fake. It has a very distinctive "Blizzard" feel to it, and Blizzard has always had very high quality music. Anyone who has heard the Black Temple and Sunwell BGM will agree with me.
And who would put so much effort into a scam?
Fojar May 20th 2008 7:11PM
And as an addendum, I'd like to point out how several very distinctive melodies (From Sunwell and BT =D) are used, sorta reinforcing how this is what everything in WoW so far has been leading up to.

I don't know, but I haven't had my pills today so what I'm interested to know about is why Blizzard haven't asked WoW Insider to take this content down?
Is this confirmation that this is indeed fake?
Fojar May 21st 2008 12:17AM
Don't leech off my posts. >=(
Fojar May 21st 2008 12:20AM
Ignore that, I misunderstood your comment.
Anyway, If this is a scam, then it's a damn good one, because from what I can tell, this is original music, and if someone found an orchestra and choir willing to help out the scam, then they have too much time/money.

Wow.
Someone's trying to make their money today eh Eliah? I see you've reverted back to the we're gonna share wrath info again, until Blizzard says no (then I'll totally take it down, and then try to chum up to everyone).
You wanker.
Eliah Hecht May 20th 2008 7:16PM
Hi Blurred! Our legal department is still mulling it over, but at the moment we've settled on a policy of link it, discuss it, just don't host it ourselves. Hence the YouTube embed, instead of posting a link to the MP3.
JPN May 20th 2008 7:17PM
Blurred why do you care
No May 20th 2008 7:30PM
Well... assuming the reason WoWInsider took down the earlier information was to keep on good terms with Blizzard, why would anyone consider this form of linking to leaks to be any better? Leaks are leaks; if you're going to post them and forfeit your relationship with the company, then do it. If you're attempting to keep in Blizzard's good graces, I really, really doubt articles like this are viewed in a better light than the previous ones that had their information removed.
TotalBiscuit May 20th 2008 10:36PM
Sorry Eliah, I know we're partners and everything, but you guys are really being dicks about this. You need to stop pussy-footing around and choose where you actually want to stand on this issue. Fuck legalities, this is about either doing as Blizzard ask, or not doing as they ask, and living with the consequences of either. Quit sitting on the fence and choose. It's going to bite you in the ass either way, so man up and ride it out.
We've made our call, and we're sticking with it. It's about time you made yours, and don't let a couple of angry blog commentators sway your judgment.
Eliah Hecht May 21st 2008 12:01AM
"Fuck legalities, this is about either doing as Blizzard ask, or not doing as they ask"
We did what they asked. They asked us to take down the unreleased information we were hosting, and we did. They never asked us to not link to unreleased information, or to not talk about it. So we're doing that.
TotalBiscuit May 21st 2008 9:43AM
You really think they make a distinction? You're just arguing semantics. Linking it is just as bad. If you were asked not to put porn on your page and you hotlinked a streaming video with porn on it, do you think people would just let it slide? It's the same thing.
What's worse, is the craven cowardice on display. You won't even accept responsibility for doing it. Squirm all you want, but I have the feeling you've just burned more bridges than you realize. Take it from me and my personal experience, getting on the wrong side of Blizzard, is a bad idea.

The beginning sounds just like the crystal cave on the Matterhorn at Disneyland.

Damn... thats all I can say.
Damn.
