Your spec is very very similar to what my mage partner in 2v2 uses and what my own mage uses. And it works very well with a Paladin as a partner. Maybe not in the higher ratings but not everyone is a mad pvper. I go out, BoP the mage to protect from physical damage and interrupt, let my partner do the dps while I focus heal myself since they almost always go for the healer.
