Around Azeroth: The lone defender

At first, this seems to be an ordinary picture of Orgrimmar. Sunrise, gates, spiky things, blah blah blah. But doesn't it look a little ... empty? Almost as if, say, half the buildings and all the people were missing? I had to get another pic to compare, but it was true -- in this pic, the Horde capital city has lost its zeppelin tower, north wall, and what seems to be the entirety of the world northwest of the city.
How could this have happened? If you look closer, you'll discover the awful truth. A nuclear explosion has eliminated the top half of Kalimdor. You can even see the mushroom cloud. And what's the only thing that can survive a nuclear explosion? That's right, High Overlord Saurfang (also cockroaches, Twinkies, and a certain action hero in a refrigerator.) He's still there to the left of the torch, defending the city even as the buildings fall. And I'm sure whoever caused that explosion (*cough*Fandral Staghelm*cough*) is going to be in a world of pain.
Thanks to Bloodelfer of Anachronos-EU for the pic!
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Also, how awesome would a Lego Warcraft console game be? Pretty awesome.

If it was Staghelm, I doubt he's still around to be punished. :')

"A certain action figure in a refrigerator"
Oh my god I was practically crying with embarassment when they tried to pull that trick -_-

Saurfang didn't just survive that explosion - he created it. He thought he saw a gnome rogue trying to sneak into the city, and glared at it until it exploded at the atomic level. Turned out it was not a gnome, but merely a funny-shaped rock. Again.
When he gets bored with standing there alone, eventually, he'll just will Orgrimmar back to normal with his secret psychic powers...
Just like last week.

Is that really Org? *peers at* Why the sudden loss of structure? XD Dammit, I need that flight path!

Sorry to burst the bubble, but this is what happens when you lag out of the game the second you hit Org, and you have your video settings turned to the very minimum. My old laptop does the same exact thing everytime I get on it and go to org.
Still creepy though.

I have this issue on my PC for lack of RAM. Have the draw distance as low as possible.
Still get crashes from time to time.
Luckily I maxed out the RAM on my laptop when I bought it.
(crucial.com by the way, if you are looking for a good site)
It's amazing how much better the world looks when you can see things that are far away.
also, Cockroaches would be killed by an atomic explosion
