What a bunch of crybabies man. Both the people QQing about DK's having a "frost" tree and you folks getting upset for calling frost a DPS tree. I have a frost mage. While i would not label it as a DPS tree compared to the other two, it most certainly IS a dps tree and is only labeled the survival tree to distinguish it from *gasp* the other two damn dps trees we have. Only a few talents are really survival related:Ice barrier, permafrost, coldsnap (though this works just as well (better?) for icy vein/water elemental use)frostbite (though this is generally a DPS tool for ice lance shatters). The majority of talents in the frost tree directly increase the dps potential of frost mages: Water elemental = dpsMana cost reduction = dps for longerwinters chill = dps target debufficy veins = dps fastershatter = dps harderelemental precision = dps with less missesartic winds, improved CoC, artic reach, piercing ice, ice shards...goddamn list goes on and on. This is why we cant have nice things folks. People cry, berate, and nitpick *everything* in this game, especially stupid shit that doesnt matter, like whether frost is a DPS tree or a crowd control tree.

Completely right. people need to actually look at the big picture here. all a mage does is dps, maybe a little cc, but it's a dps class, so all of it's trees are dps, just a different style.as far as the dk is concerned, the same is generally true. everyone seems to forget that blizzard is taking great pains to point out that all tanks will be able to dps more, and it's only logical that frost has dps enhancing talents, given the previous statement the tanks can dps now.

No dude, saying frost is just *another* dps tree is like saying Subtlety is just another rogue dps tree. They aren't you're wrong. All pure dps classes have 3 kinds of trees. Their raid tree (destro for locks, combat for rogues, BM for hunters and Fire for mages). Their 'secondary' tree (Afflic for locks, Assassination for rogues, Arcane for Mages and Survival for hunters) and their pvp tree (Sub for rogues, frost for mages, demo for Locks and Marks for Hunters).Your raid tree is all about high sustained dps. Your secondary tree is *usually* a point dump but has a couple talents buried in the lower tier talents to make it raid viable (not optimal) if you wish to spec it. Your pvp tree will be packed full of survival talents/mitigation talents/CC talents at the expense of pure damage.*Note: locks are a possibly exception since they're dominant pvp spec is a hybrid between two trees, but I wouldn't surprised if that changes in the future.

Sub is just another rogue DPS tree, actually. All rogue trees are DPS. Sub is basically a PvP DPS tree, but that's still DPS.Speaking of which, anyone know why they decided to give us Sub rogues threat reduction on our 41 point talent? Is it just so that we stand a chance in normal dungeons, assuming everyone else is in Heroic gear?
