Last Resort gets first Thori'dal drop on live realms
Now that right there is what you call a bow. The very first legendary ranged weapon ever, Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury, has dropped on the live realms, from Kil'jaeden as expected. Last Resort on EU Boulderfist is the lucky guild, and Stefang is the lucky Hunter (seen here with his bow and Kalecgos) -- feel free to check his Armory page, as long as you're careful not to drool on the keyboard.Thori'dal, as you probably know by now, shoots its own ammunition, which means that not only did Stefang win a nice bow, but he now has an extra bag slot (something all Hunters probably want even more than a legendary weapon). There's no word on how the giveaway went down (we're guessing DKP, and if Stefang did anything less than cash in everything he had, he got this thing for a bargain), but grats to both him and Last Resort for a very, very nice piece of loot.
Now, about getting that other legendary item back together for Northrend...
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Took you long enough to post this!
Unagieater May 29th 2008 4:37PM
Kewl.
My question is, where is this item in lore? I mean, most other legendaries have something to do with the lore of the area, but what does this one have to do with anything?
Naix May 29th 2008 4:39PM
This will be replaced by a level 74 quest green bow in a couple of months.
Lunati May 29th 2008 5:05PM
You realize that Thunderfury is still considered one of the best swords ingame?
Regardless, it'll be nothing to worry about once the new level cap is up, and this bow should last past Naxx at the very least. It's nothing to sneeze at, if any green replaces it I'm guessing it'll be at 84, not 74.

What's happening in a couple months? New patch? Certainly not the expansion.
Warlock May 29th 2008 4:40PM
anyone else think this might be a preview to the fact that bows in WOTLK won't require ammo?
thethirdmoose May 29th 2008 4:45PM
No. Then a major revenue source for engineers (and therefore miners) would dry up.
However, a legendary warlock weapon that spontaneously created soul shards *would* be nice :)
Sanol May 29th 2008 4:45PM
Doubt it, would change to much to the hunter class and other classes would start whining about the fact that they still need to buy stuff for their dps'ing :D

"Then a major revenue source for engineers (and therefore miners) would dry up."
Other than the Adamantite Arrow Maker - a dropped 335 recipe - engineers can't make arrows. Adamantite Stingers are popular, but the economy for bow ammo under level 62 can't die because it doesn't exist.

What a scrub, utterly clueless about his gems. Typical the first drop of this would go to a complete tard. -.-
George May 29th 2008 4:51PM
What are you babbling about?
4STR4STALeatherBelt May 29th 2008 5:07PM
Clearly if you don't see the problem, you're just as idiotic. GG!
OutlandishTrendz May 29th 2008 5:10PM
I think you are just jealous.
4STR4STALeatherBelt May 29th 2008 5:17PM
Yes, of course you do. Children like you view the world in such a jaded light. *Pat*
God forbid someone can give critisism without it being based on envy. GOD NO!
OutlandishTrendz May 29th 2008 5:18PM
And for your comment about gems, I don't think his crit or AP is an issue.
Gulbrandt May 30th 2008 1:19AM
His hit rating was fine, too, especially if there was a Balance Druid with just 1 point in Improved Faerie Fire (Balance), which increased hit rating by 1%, and frees up some sockets to be used for something else. The hit cap on Hunters is 142, from what I see on wowwiki.com
Care to explain what you're seeing?
Ahoni May 30th 2008 9:37AM
"God forbid someone can give criticism without it being based on envy."
Thing is, you are not offering criticism, you are spewing insults.
Oblivion May 29th 2008 4:48PM
Nope. I think hunters need to hang on to their quivers/ammo pouches. Thori'dal is a legendary weapon and I suspect its magical arrows will be unique to this bow. Very cool.
Kartharan May 29th 2008 5:02PM
I don't see anything wrong with his gems... are you just mad because he didn't stack nothing but attack power? 0_o
