Yeah, my bad. Either way, if they're mana addicted, how do rogues fit into the lore?

Two reasons belf rogues make sense:The Blood elves addiction to magic has given them an "ends justify the means" attitude towards obtaining new sources of magic. This sense of ethics works well with the lore behind rogues.Second, energy is very similar to mana in form and function, it just has a set pool and (very fast) regeneration rate. Therefore, it isn't inconceivable that some physically-oriented Blood Elves would channel their addictive personalities (and racials) into turning other's magic into their energy.

The energy bar represents their actual physical energy though, not like mana. The energy is so that rogues aren't completely based on the GCD, and therefore twitch characters that even the smallest amount of latency kills. Rogues have virtually no magical abilities, with the exception of shadowstep.
