Official Forums shows hints of the cold

It's a subtle change, but a definite one -- and it's one that not everyone seems to be able to see. However, at least for some folks, portions of the official forums have started to switch over to the new Wrath of the Lich King theme. Mostly, it's the menu and organizational pages showing the new theme for certain viewers.
This may be a bit of Internet turbulence -- it could be something that Blizzard hadn't really intended to release yet. There was quite a bit of spotty login troubles earlier this morning, and several people reported having difficulty reaching the forums. This hint of what's-to-come could be an error, or some kind of forum glitch. But, at least for now, we can get a sneak preview of what our forums are going to look like while we face the Wrath of the Lich King.
Edit: Within 20 minutes of the theme being visible, it looks like it may already have been reverted. We hope you got a chance to see it!

The F&F Alpha boards recently went online. If you have still have the BC beta boards bookmarked, they'll take you to them, or you can use http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/welcome.html, as previously posted.
And, of course, there are also the Death Knight character portraits: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/images/portraits/wow-default/0-1-6.gif

The whole "friends and family" thing really bugs me. Reminds me of the days when the Aristocrats of the world had their exclusive luxuries, far above the surfs and peasants.
Are we heading back to those days again, via virtual worlds?Where people that "know people" get perks and exclusive rights while the paying lowly "customer" *spit spit* can just eat cake?
I'm quite glad people found the Alpha client. Serves Blizzard right. Exlusive perks for one group of people... but not another is just wrong.

You do realize alphas and betas are basically unpaid labor, right?
Yay they get to play a buggy, incomplete version of the game and report a bajillion errors and bugs! Good for them...

I've always seen it as Blizz giving the right to test their newest and most high-profile content to people they feel are trustworthy and resourceful enough to provide worthwhile feedback while supposedly keeping things on the down-low.
So to me, it's less "they're privileged" and more "trusted more by Blizzard than the average WoW player."

The world has always and will always work this way, get over it.

I have a funny feeling this was totally unintentional. Forums are down right now.

I saw it up a couple times this weekend and then it was back to normal. It seems to be going back and forth between the TBC and WotLK style, at least the forums index page is.

Umm, I sent you folks this tip 2 days ago...

The logo in the top left corner of Bilzzard's WoW homepage is slowly turning from BC green to WotLK icy blue too...

Supposedly it's been happening for a few days, now. Happened once to me a while back, and never again. I hear it's pretty common to see it after making a reply (that page where you can click the "View Post" button). Its trigger aside, I think it's pretty awesome looking =)
