Ugh. Right when I want to reactivate my account after some brief fiscal tightness while I'm moving.

I wonder if it's anything to do with Beta registration? They keep saying on the login page "No registration available but check the news section for updates".

It would be nice if a quality product was released by then. But, given how much work is going into this expansion if I have to wait longer to play a game that works well, that's perfectly alright.
At worst, I expect some minor bugs, but nothing enough to break the experience. :)

November 30 is, without a doubt, a speculative release date. Any release date listed as the first, last, or middle day of a month is almost always speculative.
For a websites to offer a preorder, they must first give some sort of release date. They usually select a date at some arbitrary point in the not-to-distant future based on basic information such as what season, quarter, or month the game is expected to be released in.
When a release date is announced, it will be announced by Blizzard, and at the same time, you can expect they will also announce a limited collectors' edition, both of which should be available for preorder with the official Blizzard store. And they probably won't announce the release until about two months before it's set to be released.
Using the Burning Crusade as an example, we can probably expect that the expansion should shifting from F&F Alpha to Closed Beta within the next several weeks, and should probably be ready for retail some time around September.
This would make way for them to announce the next expansion at Blizzcon '08 in October, which, following a similar development period, should give Blizzard suitable time to make good on their previously announce "one expansion a year" intentions.

The Europe version is still up...
Laiho Jun 5th 2008 6:08AM
30 November hm ? well it's still this year so it should be ok ;) hope Blizz will confirm the date today !
Piers Jun 5th 2008 8:18AM
I can't even see the main wow website now. Is it just me?
Ray Jun 5th 2008 8:32AM
Please re-read the FIRST sentence!!!
Jere Jun 5th 2008 8:36AM
Meh, I pre-ordered a copy through gamestop back in like January or feb (maybe march at the latest) and they said it was supposed to be available Nov. 30th as well, so this thing on Amazon is useless :/
Piers Jun 5th 2008 8:46AM
@Ray: I did thank you. Previously I got the message shown in the image at the top of the post. Now I'm not even seeing that.
Hilus Jun 5th 2008 9:45AM
Me too, can't see anything at all...blank blank blank
Arras Jun 5th 2008 9:56AM
still down...and it's almost 10am EST (7am PST). Not like Blizzard has ever really cared about meeting an arbitrary deadline before they were finished working their special brand of magic :) But I want something shiny while I drink my coffee and barely pretend to work
inotdead Jun 5th 2008 10:26AM
still down zzzz its like 7 pdt time already and they said its supposed to be up around 5 pdt...
Milktub Jun 5th 2008 10:38AM
Indeed. I'm at work. What am I supposed to do without the WoW forums to play around on?

Sept 26th.
So who's right? I'm going with Play considering Amazon posted their's last year.
If you really think Blizzard can afford to wait that long for WotLK, no way. They need to get the game out ASAP. People that I know, the majority of them have cancelled, and thats over 10+ players. I'm sure its pretty similar for many that are just bored.
Markymark Jun 5th 2008 11:31AM
Yeah... rush the development of an expansion to suite the needs of impatient people always leads to disaster. They can afford the time to wait I'd rather they have a complete and finished product instead of an expansion chock full of disappointment.
Suzaku Jun 5th 2008 11:45AM
They've been working on WotLK since 2006, if you look at the dates on some of the concept art. It's hardly "rushed". From the looks of the Alpha, it's actually fairly far along.
And BC was released before it was completed. Most of the end-game stuff was patched in later, including raids, daily quest areas, lots of voice acting and music, gear and items, and the entire Isle of Quel'danas zone.
Paymetohealu Jun 5th 2008 11:39AM
The forums are up now.
Milktub Jun 5th 2008 12:20PM
They are sort of up for me. I can view forums, but can't log in to reply to the idiots!
