Official SSO quest guide
The official US website came back up an hour or two ago, and with it came a "reputation tips" guide for the Shattered Sun Offensive. Now I asked myself when I saw this, of all the factions, why SSO? They're one of the easiest, not to mention most profitable, factions out there; surely people can just do a bunch of dailies and get to Exalted in a week or so.
However, it turns out that although this presents itself as a faction guide, what it really is is a quest guide. It covers all the Isle of Quel'Danas daily quest as well as the SSO-associated Outland dailies. While you won't find anything new in there if you've done the quests a few times, newcomers to the Isle may find some useful tips, such as:

- Do Further Conversions and Arm the Wards at the same time.
- You can take the readings for Know Your Ley Lines while being attacked.
- You don't have to have killed the Emissary of Hate to plant the banner on him for The Battle Must Go On; just find the corpse.
- You have to be wearing the goggles to see the distortions for The Multiphase Survey.
- Your Flare can pick up charges off the Incandescent Fel Sparks for Blast the Gateway even if you're not the one who kills the Spark, as long as you're nearby.

"and have faster ways to get gold when I need it"
Do tell!

I hate to be a tease, but if everyone did this it would be much harder for me.
However, another method these days would be just to farm primals. Any good farming mobs (e.g. Skald or Elemental Plateau) should give better gold per hour, assuming your class can farm OK, especially with currently-high prices; and I find the Plateau usually deserted post-2.4.

Ah, come on!
You know no one reads the comments anyway ;-)

I mean most of these are...."duh"....
...but as to the reason for a guide like this? Well the guides for most rep would be pretty short..."Collect x items, do all quests to honored, turn in x items, run x instance y times until exalted."

WEird to think people are still doing these quests. After getting 2 characters to exalted I'm kinda burnt out on them. :P
Anyway, here's a time-saving tip that I bet most people don't think about. Pick up the attack plans quest and the BEM quest, and then go do the 2 in HFP. When you're done with those two, you can fly on your mount directly to Netherstorm, accross the Twisted Nether.

This is a very unneeded guide. The SSO tosses reputation at you. My freakin' maid (former main, now my fisher/cook) is somehow revered from just doing the Multiphase Survey whenever the cooking/fishing daily was in Nagrand.
My main was exalted in I think two weeks of only doing some of the dailies. Meanwhile, it took an ungoldly number of 5-man runs to get exalted with Sha'tar, CE, LC and Thrallmar.
Milktub Jun 5th 2008 6:19PM
Edit: I now do the Multiphase because it's the fastest 9g in the game. I won't go on the island ever again.

They missed the Orb of Murloc control quest.

Don't just do Arming the Wards and Further Conversions together. Do ALL the IoQD dailies together.
I just do a big circuit.
Collect up all the quests and pay your 10g for the rep. You'll make the gold back quickly.
Start out doing Arming the Wards and Further Conversions. There are plenty of the berries out here so pick them up as you go. Head into the BE area and fight your way into the building with the ley line. Fight your way over to where the demons are. Be sure to kill all of the 3 different types of BEs along the way. Kill your six demons. Pick up your 2nd ley line. Plant the banner on the big demon. You don't have to kill him, you only have to plant the banner.
Hop on your mount and head out to where the Naga are. The warrior types drop keys to open the chests to get the ore. The mage types drop the orbs. Throw the orbs at the murlocs to release them. Go out to the shrine and get your 3rd ley line. Ride back to town. Arm a ward.
Go to the dock and do both the bombing runs.
Turn everything in, you're done. Use the scroll to teleport back to Shatt.
This takes an hour at most.

"I'm Revered on both my 70s"
Why did you stop at revered? Generally people give up at exalted...
Eliah Hecht Jun 5th 2008 9:05PM
I was having a brain lapse when I wrote this, and put Revered wherever I meant Exalted -- fixing, thanks.

As said already, an unnecessary guide. Did anyone not work out which could be done together? Does anyone now not gather them all up and rattle them off in an hour?
How about some decent guides?

Cliff's notes:
"There are QD dailies. You can do them. I don't do them anymore."

Note, this works best if you are good with skyguard and netherwing and an herbalist:
Step 1: go down to island, pick up armaments and roots.
Step 2: hearth and pick up survey, residue, attack plans, mana cells.
Step 3: Go bomb some eggs in skettis.
Step 4: Head down to SMV, get some armaments. Pick weeds at dragonmaw fortress, head to netherwing base, get booterang, beat up peons and gather dust, at 40 you should have around a primal mana, and some residue if not all of it.
(if skinner the flayers are a must, and with the amount of them now it is 2 fast quests, along with residue)
Step 5: Turn in those, pick up the disruption in nagrand quest and head to Hellfire.
Step 6: Do roots. Then do those 2 in hellfire. Enjoy having around half a primal fire. Head through twisting nether to mana forge B'nar. (The one on the very west) Kill geologists there, the drop rate on them is nuts.
Step 7: Go west, get mana cells. Head south, bomb demonic cannons.
Step 8: Either take taxi to Skettis and fly to shat, or just fly southwest to nagrand. If nagrand kill some cultists by sitting in the portal and pulling them in one at a time. You can fly about to kill 2-4 more and they will have started to respawn. Do the survey.
Step 9: Turn in a lot of quests. Like, A LOT.
Step 10: Head back to island, do the route tkc stated earlier.
Use scroll to get back into Shat.
There, you've done anywhere from 15-25 dailies depending on your choices. Sell Primals. You can do this twice a week and end up with enough gold to support a raiding habit where you have to use 5 50G flasks a week along with repair bills and any enchants you may need to get.
It takes around 1.5-2 hrs depending on your DPS. Low DPS classes/specs can take out the kill ones and still do okay, though I recommend just getting a buddy to help ya.
