World of WarCrafts: Duskwood chest
Father's Day is looming just around the corner (for some of us anyway) and what better way to celebrate fatherhood than a chest full of loot? Another uninspired neck-tie and socks combo is hard to beat but hopefully the target of this gift can appreciate the change of pace. If you happen to be the giver of this veritable cornucopia of awesomeness, prepare to be lavished with praise. If you happen to be on the potential receiving end, it might not be a bad idea to drop some subtle hints to your loved ones about a certain column on your favorite weblog.
Here is what you will need:
- Unfinished Wood Chest (I purchased mine from Hobby Lobby)
- Wood Stain (Honey)
- Metallic Paint (Bronze)
- Paintbrush

Ooh ooh, I know what Jon's getting for father's day. Hope you made sure he's not reading this week. :)
That's a great idea. Think I'll do that for my hubby for his b-day this year.

i once held a job at hobby lobby, and let me tell you.... those chests and trunks are VERY over priced ;)

That's true about hobby lobby being over priced, but if they're the only ones who sell it... you're stuck.
I picked up a really nice carved wooden box from Target though. (when I got it, it was on sale for $20, normally $25). This would work well for something like that though.

@Saphia - He saw me make the whole thing! I told him Happy Early Father's Day! LOL
I didn't think the trunk was overpriced. They were priced at $5.99 with a 40% discount on all unfinished wood (they run those specials every other week or so). The link is for a set of 3, but I bought mine individually. :)

@Shelbi
That's awesome. I bet he loved it.Really, those prices for the hobby lobby chests aren't bad at all.
