Blizzard's maintenance interrupts some website features

The WoW login screen acknowledges that some services may be intermittently unavailable due to "website maintenance and upgrades." As we've reported, Blizzard sites have experienced maintenance periods earlier this week. The current news blurb says that they are working on the web infrastructure to provide "new features" and "increased performance and security." The features impacted are:- account creation
- password recovery
- paid character transfer
- adding payment

What I'd like to see is Multi Account name memory, and ability to store passwords. That way, I don't have to keep retyping them anyway. Besides, my computers are secure already. One ever goes out, the passwords are cleared.

I can dig it. Had a hell of a time getting my name changed. everytime it got to the end, It would take me back to the start of the process instead of completing the transaction

Been trying for three days to create an account, pretty much during all my waking hours - not sure "intermittent" is the proper term for what's going on.

Just a heads up regarding this -
Earlier tonight a friend talked to a GM about an account issue he was having, and the GM made a point to mention it would probably be best for him not to change his password/any account info until after this maintenance is officially over. Apparently since it is being worked on and only available here and again right now, there's been cases of people changing their passwords and accounting/billing 'losing' these passwords because of the work their doing.
So anyone considering a password change account/billing change - best bet is to wait. Even if the site lets you, everything is not functioning up to par at the moment.

I'd like to know why WoW Insider's main page is currently making my powerhouse high-velocity computer hiccup and choke worse than a redneck sister giv.... erm... hiccup and choke worse than a... um... yeah. Anyway, your main page is making my computer RUN VERY SLOW. What's the deal, eh? Doing maintenance too!? It's probably an ad from hell or something.

So what's the likely timeline for these maintenance issues to be over? Are we looking at a few hours, days...? It seems like its been going on for a while now

FYI Paid Name Changes are having similar issues. Every time I select the server my character is on it brings me back to the login screen. I'll try again later today.
But honestly, 4th Ed. D&D releases today. We've all got something better to do today.
