As for Helmets, and I'm a preKara Prot warrior and love this guide, I am engineering and I crafted the Tankatronic Goggles. I don't know if that's good for Pre Kara, but it's Purple and it's got Tank right in the name! I put that Eternal Earthstorm Meta in there and I forgot what other gem. But as for luck on my part, first SV run to get attuned with Kara (yeah we went all the way through SV) I got that cape, and the first Mech run, I got my Sun Eater. Love it! But as for the sword, which enchant would you recommend for it? Right now, it's got Executioner on it.I'm a MT for our heroics with 13.5k armor, 11.5k HP unbuffedand def rating of 489. I think I'm good, but I don't know.

For the Sun Eater, I'd probably recommend Mongoose. I've heard that Executioner's armor penetration increases threat some, but when Mongoose procs, it gives you a fair amount of dodge (6-8%, I believe), as well as increasing your critical hit chance by another solid amount, which does help your threat. A nice Revenge crit is just kind of wonderful.

Enjoy the heroics Kasey. With a Def skill of 489, you'll want some resilience to elimiate crits.Your armor and HP are about where I started. I'm still doing just heroics (with the occassional Kara and Mag/Gruul pug) and i still at ~17k armor and 15.5k hp unbuffed.
