Reader WoWspace of the Week: Ten
By popular demand, we're returning one of the reader favorite columns. For as many different World of Warcraft players as there are out there, there are equally as many different WoWspaces for people to game in. Each week, we'll bring you a WoWspace sent in by one of our readers and let them tell you all about it. Would you like to share your own personal space? Just drop some pictures and your description to us here at readerwowspace AT gmail.com!
This week we have a WoWspace that includes not just our regular reader, Ten, but also Ten's husband's WoWspace so that they can kind of game "face to face" together. Curious? Read on for all the info, courtesy of Ten, aka Laelvalin / Vijanwi!
My workspace is truly a bubble of space in itself. I sit directly across my husband's computer desk, and together, our computer 'island' (flooded with light from the huge windows, hiss!) takes up a third of the living room. Which I incidentally think is just the right amount.
I've been playing WoW since 2005 and have severe altitis, but my two mains (yes, two) are my Warlock Laelvalin and my Warrior Vijanwi. Prot all the way from level 1 on. Altitis has a side effect of masochism, I guess. I raid a little and level alts a lot, but I'm really in the game for the RP with my awesome guildies. My husband tried to get into the game as well, but he just can't find much fun in it. A shame, since our computer space is so optimal for beating each other up on screen.
My computer is a slightly old, but trusty and often upgraded Packard Bell, and my most precious possession is my Wacom tablet, which works just fine as a mouse-pad too ;).My screen rests on one or the other volume of Harry Potter. It's the perfect height. What else are books for? The little dice cups are a reminder of my pen & paper gamer side. They are actually filled with equally little d6, for when I have a sudden fit of wanting to make a new D&D char.
My desk is not always that orderly, especially when I had a long WoW session, during which my faithful servant... I mean husband, brings me all the food and drink I desire. And more often than not, I have at least one of my two cats claiming the desk in the name of Spain. Or Kitten. (Don't ask about the feline play ground called Cable Hell under the desks. It would suck your soul in.)
That's it for this week's Reader WoWspace of the Week. We'll be back next Sunday with another close look into the scene behind the scenes from another reader's home. If you're feeling brave and would like to show off your own personal space, drop us some wowspace pictures and your description of the space to readerwowspace AT gmail.com. (And if you sent one in before but it wasn't featured, please re-send it so we have it!)

This series seriously needs its name changed to "Reader WoWspace of the quarter" or something, because it's hardly ever updated.
Too bad because its probably my favourite one.

Maybe more of us should submit our spaces. I'm afraid to submit mine, but if I had walls in my basement, I totally would.
I think I just applied a stereotype.

You are absolutely right. But we have changed the format up a bit to make it easier to update from our end, so don't fear. It will return next week. (Dan and Mike would kick my butt if it didn't anyway. ;D )
Also, a note for those who want to be featured: please do make sure to include quite a bit of text about your WoWspace! After all, this column is supposed to be about -our readers-, not the writer's ability to pad around you, so you might as well use the space to talk about your space!

is that a box of the wowtcg on the shelf?
Tenchan Jun 9th 2008 5:25AM
It is, Onyxia's Lair, to be precise. The only cards I have. I'm a fan of the old lady.
Sumanai Jun 8th 2008 9:02PM
i think it's time you send your husband on to an epic quest... take the trash out! xD
Tenchan Jun 9th 2008 5:26AM
I did. He keeps dying at 1%, the n00b.
Kryptonls Jun 8th 2008 9:30PM
Nice to see this has indeed returned. :)
Rosaar Jun 9th 2008 1:59AM
Is that the 5th Harry Potter books under his screen?
Suite Jun 9th 2008 5:02AM
That's "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" alright. :]
tyram Jun 9th 2008 9:40AM
I think the best (funniest) item is the deordorant sitting on the desk. No doubt kept around so you can "freshen" up before hitting the hay after a long raid :)
Tenchan Jun 9th 2008 1:48PM
I wish I could wholeheartedly say no to that ;)
Bynde Jun 9th 2008 1:46PM
So where's the coffee can to pee in?
Dangerous oversight there, dude.
;)
