Around Azeroth: I've just seen a face
According to Lethia of Duskwood, she and some friends were hanging around in heroic Blood Furnace waiting for a replacement to get there when they started snooping through the fel orc paperwork. She found a wanted poster sitting on a table. This face looked very familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. So I asked the whole WOW Insider team what they thought. Possibilities brought up included:
- Guile from Street Fighter
- The Blood Elf Bandit
- Vash the Stampede from the anime series Trigun
- A very badly drawn Zul'jin
The mostly likely possibility would be Zul'jin, but why would the fel orcs in Outland be interested in a troll back in Azeroth? Is there a human somewhere dressed like this? Who do you think is in this picture? (A larger version can be found here.)
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. And remember, we're all full on sunsets! Too hot for the sun anyway.

Whatever it is, cool. I've been running H BF quite a bit lately (mostly because I've gotten in a groove of being able to do BF and Ramps in about one and a half hours with a good group), and it's beginning to become a new favorite instance.

Definitely Chuck Norris.
InsaneAssault Jun 9th 2008 11:33AM
Oh come on, everyone knows thats Guile. The Fel Orcs are planning on kidnapping him in order to learn his Special Forces fighting style. Imagine Fel Orcs being able to do sonic booms, sonic kicks and back breakers? It'll be over!

He reminds he of the professor in the RPG THe witcher.

seriously, first thought when I looked at it was Vash, without even reading the text... and I haven't seen the show in about 2 years.

I don't even see anything vaguely humanoid in that picture... it looks kinda like an eight-legged white dog humping a chair with an overhang?

In game it has to be Zul'Jin but it is probably inspired by Trigun.

You, sir, have won the award for Most Fantastic Obscure Reference. :D It's been far too long since I've thought about that show.

Yeah! Can't any of you read Orcish? It's a Rorschach inkblot test.

It cllosely resembles Cloaked Vash, actually. It makes sense. It's the Outland and if you've watched Trigun, it could be considered sort of a joke.
I suppose that Outland, which was a fragment of the planet Draenor or some crap might bare resemblance to the planet that Vash and them touched down on at the beginning.
But, this is likely false, it's probably a random drawing some Fel Orc did when they got bored.

Winnie the Pooh?
My guess is it is a Defias, but that's just because they needed a Wanted poster and reused an old one.
Aerei Jun 10th 2008 12:12AM
Hate to disappoint you all, but it's just a Defias bandit concept sketch from the early design stages of WoW. In fact, that poster is used for wanted posters all over the game world, it's one of like three, total.

It's me! :O
Suzaku Jun 10th 2008 6:57AM
Just the old Defias Bandit wanted poster, which has been reused over and over on unrelated wanted posters and doodads for quite some time now.
Adal Jun 10th 2008 9:44AM
Reminds me of Van Cleef.. much like Suzaku suggests. Stared at that dodgy hairdo and mask for several minutes in my first ever boss fight.

Has anyone noticed Sarah Kerrigan's face in the control panel screen of the goblin shredder machines?
