Season 4 does not begin June 17th

There has been a rumor going around for a few days that arena season 4 will begin on June 17th. I actually heard this in Alterac Valley this weekend when I was plowing through the place with a few friends and tanking Drek and two of his generals.While lots of folks wish it was different, season 4 will not be starting on the 17th. Drysc said as much today in a blue post, and went on to reiterate that they will still be giving a two week notice of any upcoming season.
Personally, I expect season 4 to start sometime in late July or early August. That gives it about four months of activity until the supposed release of Wrath of the Lich King in November. But even the release of WotLK in November is unconfirmed, and that's just my guess which is no better than any rumor you hear in a battleground. The only official word will come from Blizzard, which we'll have carried here as soon as we hear it.

Gee.. I wonder, what's the point of stating S4 so late if it will be totally outdated in WotLK? Or they gonna start S5 as soon as WotLK is released?

I think one thing that people are totally overlooking here is that there is a pay per play PvP tournament running right now.
I highly doubt that anything will be done to distract from that while it is in full progress. You don't think that releasing a new season of armour, even if it wasn't done on the tournament server would affect what is happing there?
I would look for s4 the week after the open matches wrap up.

I'm starting to regret waiting for S4 to buy some new honour gear but the chance of grabbing some PvP stuff and then find out a few weeks later the S2 gear will be out at the same prices would be even more annoying.

This may have been answered elsewhere but can anyone answer whether the actual arena points (not PR or TR) are reset in season 4?
It seems illogical to me that they would wipe previously accrued points and would like to settle this long standing disagreement between friends (at least bragging rights).

All you guys are thinking too hard. Play the game: buy the gear, be done with it. I can understand trying to watch the release dates for obvious reasons, but if it's a situation where you are honor capped, just buy a piece and move on. The game is still fun, isn't it?
For crying out loud, just get over it. No one has any hard date on Wrath, so getting all pissy over a potentially short S4 season borders on crybaby.
Play the game, stop whining.

Yeah uh... It's been some 30 odd weeks.
I've been honor capped, arena point capped, and have every piece of S3. I've been waiting for S4 to come for a long time. The game is fun, yes, but not when we're sitting around because there's nothing to work for.

So you've done all the PvE stuff worth doing? Remember, this game is not centered around PvP... it never was, and it never will be. If you're all S3'd out, you might as well try and take some of that understanding of the game and apply it to the traditional PvE game. There are much more nuances in the PvE game that you would find challenging and worth your time.
PvP is not what makes WoW great. If all you play WoW for is PvP, you're missing the point. There are better games out there for PvP than WoW.

PVE isn't all that hard. I was actively clearing both PVP and PVE. I cleared BT/Hyjal. Worked on Sunwell for quite a bit, until I decided to run off to AoC. Found out that game was pretty bad, and I'm back to realize that my guild is largely incompetent. An individual can only go so far in this game.
