L70ETC music video contest winners announced
They've just announced the winners, and you can see all of the winning videos on the official WoW website. I have to say, I don't find most of the winners particularly interesting. They're quality videos, and probably exactly what Blizzard was looking for in a L70ETC music video, but they're not really my style. I tend to enjoy the music videos that are a little more... out there, and don't just show the band members' faces for five minutes. Something happening throughout, with a little less glam or random filler shots. Dayetriper of Nathrezim has a little of that at the very end, but you need to sit through almost the whole thing before seeing it. That's only my personal taste, though. The quality on most of these videos is still very good. After all, they won the thing, and I really couldn't do any better I'm sure.
I enjoyed the video from Naje of Stormreaver, out of all of the glam-filled winners. The scenery and camera work pulled me into the video a little more than the others. You can view that one directly above, or head over to the official page to see them all.

i dont find any machinima interesting. really creating the term "machinima" doenst validate it as an art.

I know I play too much when through the beginning of that "Of Montreal" video, I kept thinking "More Dots! More Dots!"

These guys are gonna be such noobs when WOTLK comes out.
Austin Jun 10th 2008 3:57PM
They'll be Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain then. Nice try.
VSUReaper Jun 10th 2008 3:57PM
@ Jamie - Why would they be noobs when Wrath comes out???
@Vlad - machinima is as much of an art as anything else we do. It takes hard work and creativity to create these videos as a painter, sculpter, or photographer.
Also, I agree with Alex on the video comments he made. I kinda liked the one he choose the best out of the 3 grand prize winners. One of the grand prize winners (Kong Vo's) didn't seem to be as high of quality as all the others, which was a lil disappointing.

So, are they giving you the G15 keyboard so they can ban your account later?
Calaana Jun 10th 2008 11:12PM
So long as you don't do anything with the keyboard you can't do in game(time delayed spell casts, automated movement, etc), your fine. This has been said many, many times and blizzard even support the keyboard themselves - anyone with it will see a nice little(albeit underwhelming) program pop up on it when they open wow.

Nice try? Chill out dude, it was just a joke, not everything on the internet has to turn into a pissing contest. As long as they level up that's cool.
Anhaxander Jun 10th 2008 4:08PM
Heh, personally I think a couple of them were just pity winners. You know which ones. =p
But yeah, Naje deserved the win and I do like Ravenhart's as well. Makes mine (Falynn of Greymane, watch the video Anhaxander is in the credits) seem a little simplistic considering I didn't use in-game footage like everyone else.
Now to wait for my G15 keyboard arrive and use it until I get banned.

So when do we get the "Warlocks Do It Over Time" video?
Marc Jun 10th 2008 5:01PM
How do they get the toons to do the guitar motion? That's what I want to know.
Best machinima is Red vs Blue. The guys at Rooster Teeth are the best at it in my opinion.

Of Montreal! Yay, good choice :D
However, if this is the best L70ETC video, pff.. It's a bit boring innit? Just the moves of the characters (which are not very numerous) in some random order with some flashy camera movements and blurs.. The creator did a very fine job with it, but it isn't very original..
Well, the song itself isn't very good either (whiny voice in the chorus, no evil metal screams, come on, it's parody after all) so I guess that's part of it as well..
Aren't there any more creative entries we can watch?
