Oceanic Alliance characters to get free PvE to PvP transfers
If you're a regular reader of our Guildwatch feature, you may remember hearing about the woes of the Oceanic PvP realm Thaurissan on the last Guildwatch. The server is incredibly Horde heavy, with an estimated 14 to 1 imbalance, and the server denizens say it is genuinely near impossible to get 25 people together to do raid content on the Alliance side. Unfortunately , we also know that Blizzard is still firmly against PvE to PvP realm transfers, which may be preventing Thaurissan from getting the influx of new blood they need.
However, for the sake of Thaurissan's Alliance, they have suspended this restriction. Starting today, June 12th, and ending no later than June 19th, Alliance characters (and only Alliance characters) from the Oceanic PvE realms Nagrand, Aman'thul, and Khaz'goroth will be eligible for free transfers to the Thaurissan realm. Blizzard reserves the right to close transfers early if they meet their goals, so if you're eligible and you want to go, you'd better get that request in now.
This is not the first time they've done this type of thing. Over two years ago, a large cluster of PvE realms were given the opportunity to transfer to the Black Dragonflight and Dalvengyr PvP servers. Thus, it seems that they can be convinced to waive their restrictions on transfers, but that a chance to do so may only come up once every 2 years. Good luck to everyone transferring to Thaurissan, and hopefully this gives the Thaurissan Alliance the shot in the arm they need to get their end game going.

Actually Blizzard has noted that there are different cooldown timers for paid transfers and free transfers. So in therory, you could do a paid transfer today to one of the Oceanic PvE servers, when it completed you could do the free transfer to the Oceanic PvP server. Then, once your paid transfer was up you could transfer to another PvP realm. The risk is that if you started a transfer to the Oceanic realms and the free transfers closed, you'd be stuck (and screwed).

HAHAHAHA just another show of Blizz showing favoritism toward the ally. STOP It blizz grow up, so the ally are out manned, they cant complete end game, they get their asses handed to them, Awwwww poor little saps, guess what time to man up and create a new account, REROLL!!! Im tired of seeing Ally getting their way, Let the horde have their moment of bliss owning the living crap out of these poor bastards, Either way, sending PvE toons to a over hordered server is just gonna add more blood on the ground, cause lets face it, Ally cant PvP solo, GANK A THON!!! Im so creating a horde toon on this server just to sink my teeth into these guys when they roll over HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Are you a moron? What fucking favoritism? Chris Metzen said his favorite side is the Horde. Blizzard employees have small Orc bronze statues. The Horde have been the main protagonists since Warcraft III. They have a more interesting storyline. What fucking favoritism huh?
If you're so good at PvP, you wouldn't mind if both sides are a little more balanced instead of letting you gank and steamroll through it.

@Moofingcow
LOL Congrats. Your comment just proved how stupid you are. Read the realm forums - most horde are happy at the change because it might mean, finally, that they get some decent open world PVP for a change.
As for rolling a horde toon here, go ahead - you've just proved you're nothing but a playground bully who's scared to PVP without 14-1 odds on your side. Just know that the alliance toons you gank have more balls than you for sticking it through in Thaurissan against the odds.

I'm from Thaurissan. The problem stemmed from a new oceanic server opening and all the Thaurissan alliance transferring to it leaving the alliance cities as ghost towns. You could stealth into Stormwind and sit at the Auctioneers all day and not see anyone.

I play Horde on Thaurassin and I don't think that there is anyone that doesn't want more ally on the server. It's been about 2 weeks since I last saw a red name tag above someone elses head, and it is at the point now where people stop in amazement when they see an ally instead of ganking.
We need more ally, so if your interested come over and show us what you've got. You'll be served Horde on a platter cause apart from BG's and Arena everyone's forgotten how to do world pvp...

Woot !! i've just moved my two 70s from Aman Thul to Thaurassin. I am really after a transfer to another PVP server where my friends all play, and I don't mind a 90 day cooldown as I am not really playing WOW until Wrath comes out (playing LOTRO atm) This is awsome for me :)

The first toon I rolled was an Alliance Lock on Thaurissan. Fending off the hourly horde raids on Stormwind and the shot economy was bad enough at 4:1 let alone 14:1. Even as I play a crisp new Horde pally on Dreadmaul, I still have a stirring of passion for any decision that supports the Allies on Thaurissan.

The top four Alliance guilds from Nagrand have gone over this weekend. I assume that a many other large guilds have gone over from other servers as well.
