Very good article, both for information and ammusment.
I can agree with so much of this, I warrior tank up to mid t5 content with a guild alliance while still remaining in a very small guild. What this means is 1-2 hours spent repairing, restocking, planning gear for the next boss, grinding gold for repairs and consumables for every 4 hour raid. I still enjoy heading off and tanking 5 mans when possible but getting the above done doesn't leave much time for it.
Myself and I know a lot of other tanks keep unguilded or "hidden" alts just to be able to spend some time doing something different. Strangly enough most of our alts are healers and not dps, were just different than dps I think.
