WoW Moviewatch: In For A Penny, Part One
When I first saw In For A Penny: Prologue, I noticed that the poster said that the movie would be out in Spring. Selserene was pretty sure that that would never happen, or she'd aim for 2009. Sure enough, she pointed out today that she released it with a few days to spare before Summer!
In For A Penny: Part One "On All Eight" is the kind of film noir fantasy that movie buffs dream of. Thayle, the man falsely convicted in the Prologue, gambles with his heart and his future for a woman. The voice acting is great, there are musical scenes, mystery, intrigue, and for those of you that are interested, she has more Belf love ... Selserene is one of the most talented WoW machinimators that I've ever come across, and you'll really enjoy this film!

This movie is fantastic, I love all the stuff Selserene does. Real talent for machinima is hard to find, so many people throw movies together to produce something that's watchable, but to make something that holds people's attention, either by visuals, effects or just simple wit, is a challenge, and one that Selserene rises to every time.
Roll on the next installment.

Also, a machinima with great voice acting!

Not really the type of movie I go for, but very well done. Great voice acting! The only complaint I have is mixing horde and alliance like they're not at war or something. I'm all for creative license, but just like when RP'ing, you need to keep true to the main WoW elements. In my opinion.

Selserene, is using WoW as an engine to tell her story not to rewrite a story about Warcraft. Keeping factions completely separate doesn't even happen in game so requesting that Selserene (or even RPers) do not cross factions is a bit close minded. The lines between good and evil, right and wrong, black and white, alliance and horde blur the harder to try to kept them apart.

Agrees with Dotixi. I actually appreciate when people do things that's not the norm. Especially mixing up the factions to tell a story. This movie would be NOWHERE as awesome if she just limited to one faction..gotta learn how to think outside the box sometimes.

There are a ton of NPCs who would normally be associated with Horde or Alliance and yet are friendly to both sides. How is this any different?

Pretty, elegantly made although it's not film noir, it just borrows so of the obvious genre conventions.
The storytelling is a little weak but pretty shots make it definately worth the screentime.
Two thumbs up..

bah I thought it was some kind of machinima based on the short storries "In for a Penny", and that I was in for some light-headed fun :(
