I'm been Prot since day 1 (and am still Prot), but have been improving my DPS gear, mostly with drops for Kara, honor purchases, and badge rewards. I'm now able to 500-600dps with my DPS gear (while still Prot) which I'm quite happy with. Throw an Enh Shaman in my group, and it goes 700-800dps.

Last time in Kara, we had the offtank handle Curator, so I got to go DPS, and I ended up as #1 with 750dps. Everyone else was like "holy CRAP", which of course made me smile.
