I doubt we'll see a Warcraft 4 unless it's set in the past, perhaps even the War of the Ancients. It couldn't be set during WoW because there's no real place to set it. It couldn't be set in the future, because it would limit what they could do in WoW. If it were set far enough in the future from WoW, it could be used as a bridge between WoW and WoW 2, but that's quite a bit less likely than setting it in the past. There are enough players who care about the WoW story development that I don't think Blizzard would "give the ending away" so to speak by setting a Warcraft game "after" WoW. Could be wrong though. /shrug

Bliz have given themselves a rather flexible plothole as far as timelines are concerned in the form of the bronze dragonflight. All they need is Nozdormu to show up saying 'that was one possible future, but this is what really happened' and presto, story picks up from where is left off after WC3. of course, this will be like smacking their credibility with a sledgehammer.

Heh... good point. "Oh it was just a dream" sort of thing. I hope they wouldn't stoop to that though just to put another game out.
