Personally, I think one of the most exciting undocumented changes in
2.4.3 is the work being done in Stormwind. The action in the Alliance's heartland isn't limited to the
comic book, oh no. Alliance construction workers are breaking their backs day and night to make preparations for the
upcoming addition to Stormwind City, the Stormwind Harbor. You can take a look on the PTR between the Park and the Cathedral. I can't help but notice the boatloads of explosives floating in the canals. You would think they would take the back wall of the city down the traditional way, but it looks like the Dwarven workers may be taking lessons from the Gnomes.
Hopefully, this is only the first in a long line of changes to the world leading up to
Wrath of the Lich King. Something like that definitely feels like the progress needed in-game to lead up to such a meaningful expansion as far as story goes. Such massive changes to one of the most beloved Alliance cities shouldn't simply happen overnight. We'll see if they continue this while we're on the road to
Wrath. Who knows, we may even get a few hints at other world changes
we aren't sure about quite yet.

This area leads to the Docks

Why would any construction worker willingly help the city of Stormwind after the masons/Defias fiasco?
Thrush Jun 19th 2008 1:48PM
Good point ... maybe we'll see a new Defias-like faction in WotLK. =)

that was a really good comment my favorite so far, lore ftw!

Well, a certain Lady Prestor is no longer pulling the strings behind the payrolls, so any laborer who signs up now has a fair chance of actually, y'know, getting paid.
(Never mind the fact that she's probably still standing there. You killed her. I killed her. She's dead to us.)

They could be the unwilling type, possible pulled out of the stockades for some good ol community service.

This is a better image of the harbor in-game.

Did you notice the crates with the Horde symbol on them? What's with that?
Also, those boats are big pimpin' XD;
Robert Jun 19th 2008 2:38PM
No thats actually not "in-game" but from the alpha. This post is about the PTR

So we're getting our own boat in SW? is it going to go straight to northrend?
Adorable1 Jun 19th 2008 2:00PM
Why build a new harbor when those slackers out in Westfall haven't even finished those repairs yet. ; )
SaintStryfe Jun 19th 2008 8:35PM
they do seem more and more incompetent as time goes on, don't they?
innajunglestylee Jun 19th 2008 2:02PM
This attention to detail clearly proves that Blizz favors Alliance. Horde gets another sleazy Goblin and you get a fancy new boat? QQ, slap in the face, etc etc etc.
SpaceDog Jun 19th 2008 2:34PM
Oh jeez, grow up.
"Yes, let's split our MMO into two factions. Now, let's dislike one for no good reason!"
It makes sense for the expansion. Not everything is gonna be mirrored exactly on both sides.
innajunglestylee Jun 19th 2008 3:27PM
Your joke is resisted by SpaceDog.
Joke dies.

While I think your comment is being sarcastic, to anyone who actually WOULD have that comment, I'll just point to Muru being moved out of Silvermoon, an entire new event with the Lady Liadrin in Shattrath, and the most important change, the fact that Silvermoon has the Tauren Chieftans hanging out in it. So Horde has gotten to see 'advancing storylines' in their cities too. I think this is the first time Alliance has besides Onyxia. (And come on, the Thrall questline in Nagrand trumps Onyxia's entirely.)
innajunglestylee Jun 19th 2008 4:23PM
All true, but I think Horde and Alliance can come together on one thing, and that is that Lady Liadrin really needs to pipe down now. We get it, servants of the light, exalted with SSO in one quest. But do you have to keep on about it every 10 minutes?
And yes, I was being silly. I'll likely be dragging an Alliance alt over to check this out when it goes live. I think it's great to see the content move forward organically like this for both factions. I just wish we really could raid and kill your construction workers and trap you forever in the Eastern Kingdoms while Horde takes over Northrend.

I just want to see what happens when the King shows up.
