The bag of Smorcs costs the same, requires a fire, but makes 5 Smorcs. Look at the description more closely.

The rest of the food already comes in groups of 5. Perhaps it is you you needs to look closer.

Well actually that means that five bags = 25 smorcs

So, 5 ready smorcs or 25 that you need to cook.
