Breakfast Topic: Ready for Season 4?

A lot of my friends who focus on PvP already have their compositions figured out, their team names ready, and a full bank of honor and arena points stored and ready to spend. Even if you aren't the arena type, Tuesday can mean good things for you. What does Season 4 do for you if you don't PvP? Gold, of course! Profit, profit, profit. With the influx of gear into peoples' hands starting Tuesday, gems and enchanting materials are going to spike in price for awhile. I imagine epic gems will feel this especially, as this is essentially the best gear available to PvPers before Wrath of the Lich King. They'll want to make the most of it.
So whether you play for PvP or you play for Profit, tomorrow means good things. Are you ready for it? Have you done anything to prepare? Do you go through any start-of-the-season rituals for good luck? Burning a Druid-shaped wickerman, perhaps?

Yayz. I hope the pants don't take WSG marks this season. =/

I'm nowhere near ready. I'm doing something as ambitious as earning myself the Justicar title first.
I've yet to hit 70. ;.;

I believe the cost of S2 gear will be identical to S1.
At least I hope so. I've got the honor and badges stored up for my new shoulders.

With the start of season 4 I am quiting the arena actually. I'm going to stick to BG's and PVE where toons can use the full range of their abilities.

I would have been just as happy if S4 ended up a no-show. The ratings requirements are complete BS.

my roll hunter is already ready for s2 honnor, I have 70000 honnor + all the mark required to buy full set, then I think I will focus on buying the s3 that is beautiful and cheaper now.

Arena matches never interested me, but I am excited about the opportunity to buy S2 gear. My mainhand S1 has Mongoose, so I'm not antsy to ditch it, but I will pick up the S2 offhand and helm right away (Enigmatic Skyfire ready for the latter). I think the S4 belt and amulet can even be had without any rating, so I'll get those when I can. See you in AV!

I don't run arena, I'm a hunter so I don't even want to bother-the horror stories are enough, but I run BG's all the time so I have quite a bit of honor saved. I have 56k honor, which is exactly enough for the S2 chest, legs, and bow. Which is the s1 pieces that I was missing so I'm getting a pretty huge upgrade tomorrow. I already bought my gems, scope, and nethercobra armor and they're just waiting in the bank. Cannot wait for tomorrow.

you lucky in the US , we have to wait 48h us in europe :)

Just hit 70, so I've yet to try the arena, but it looks like fun for a Warlock.
Yosh Jun 23rd 2008 10:47AM
Zo my noes...
if it could just be 1 week later i would've been honor capped too >
Zamboni Jun 23rd 2008 11:15AM
I have all the the marks but only 40K honor, so I still need to grind honor for the rest of the warlock S2 set. (No more possessed Smurf!) I am seriously overjoyed about the looming price spike, though - I still have several hundred blue gems and a few hundred primals sitting in the bank, so I'll start stuffing the AH tomorrow in between AV runs. Daddy needs a new pair of shoes!

Here's what I'm asking myself about S4:
How much should I try to play if I want to get a decent or better rating (1800-2k)?
And also, what do I tell my friends who I enjoy playing with but don't seem to be around enough or haven't geared up enough?
Other than that, I've planned my purchases to upgrade the slots most in need so that even though I'm mostly in S1+vindicators, I'll be near the resil soft cap and ok in stam and damage (warlock here).

Forgot part 2 of question 1: Can I still raid 3-4x /week, leaving only 2-3 days for everything else?
STereo Jun 23rd 2008 1:24PM
Not ready for S4, but then as a hunter, my only way to get ready for arena is to re-roll
Mera_LaCroisadeEcarlate Jun 23rd 2008 2:36PM
when you are hunter and you want to do arenas, go for a 5vs5 team, it will be funnier for you and you add a strong dps.
