It's almost like the gloves are thrown in there to deliberately make you waste your first hard earned arena points.

You look at the list and say "hey the gloves are the cheapest, I'll get them first." and then you realize that they only give the basest of stats and offer no +hit or ignore armor, and that you probably should have saved up for something else.

Then you spend all you money on hit rating gems >.
