One player's trinket is another player's trophy

The Ravager is probably my biggest personal trophy -- everyone else told me that the proc was trouble (and in fact, I did have to switch out of it in instances to avoid breaking CC, though that may have changed since I last used it), but I just loved the idea of spinning around with a giant axe so much that I just had to have it. And longtime readers will know of my fascination with the Tier 0 Shaman shoulders -- most people aren't big fans, but for some reason, I love them.
It's true -- one player's vendor trash in game is another player's treasured dream loot. What exactly is it that makes us pine for a certain item -- certainly class and playstyle have something to do with it, but it seems like Blizzard makes these items so wild and varied that no matter what you find out there, something will definitely appeal to you more than other players.

my carrot and chained essence of eranikus will always be with me

I'm a trinket pack rat. I'm always carrying a full Netherweave bag full of them, and I have many more in the bank. I use various addons to juggle them... but what I really want is my bag space back.
Blizzard gave us a keyring, but what I want is a Charm Bracelet to hold all my trinkets. I'll even give up my keyring for that functionality!

My bank bag's full of engineer trinkets and helmets (aka useless stuff). They'll always be with me, rocket launcher/mining helmet/deepdive and all.

I sorta miss some of the Pre BC days I had a bag of goodies and almost all of them had some use. Netomatic, Shrink Ray, Rocket helm, Mind Control Helm, Death Ray, Battle Chicken, Dragonlings, Jumper Cables. Seems not to matter as much after BC and they did add some cool toys I would just like to see improved version of some of these old toys.

I am still trying to get the D1 legs and helm to complete my D2 set. I spent so much time trying to get them preBC I just want to complete the set. I can't even count the number of times I killed Baron Rivendare and still haven't seen them drop

Hey Mike, I think you forgot to link to 35 Yards Out on his actual blog name, but here's the link for anyone who wants it http://35yards.wordpress.com/2008/06/09/trophies-of-a-hunter-part-1/ a great blog with good reads. Cheers.

God, Mr. Schramm, your job looks so hard, toiling away re-phrasing quality posts written by others. And having to go all the way to a neatly written out post of Mania's to find that link! Can I get you a lemonade, Sir, you must be wiped OUT after all that profitting off the backs of other bloggers!

I keep ol' Blanchy's feed bag. I just think it's hillarious that this hightly armored warrior or robe-clad magician shows up, and to thank him for gathering grain, you give him a horse's beaten up feed bag, (and at the time, it was only 4 slots, so it was next to useless. Even if you just ground up the 10 levels it takes to get to the quest as fast as possible without questing, you likely got 4 6 slot bags just as drops).

Soul Harvester. I like to dress up in my full T4 (which I will never vender/shard, since I fell in love with the look as soon as I saw it) and go on Warlocky Melee rampages in STV.
I also loved my T0 Warlock helm until the graphics got horribly nerfed awhile ago (2.0, I think). It went from a very cool looking helm to a very awkward looking one. I sitll have mine, but I'm about to vender it since I don't think it will ever be fixed. QQ. At least I'll always have my screen shots...

I've kept a few of my favourite trinkets, including:
Piccolo of the Flaming Fire
Cannonball Runner
Barov Peasant Caller
Smokey's Lighter

Ive got a staff that provides me with indefinite underwater breathing. I got it when I was lvl 22 and Ive carried it ever since. It has been extremely useful in many situations and I consider it one of my most important possesions.

Hehehe!!! I just ran Gnomeregan to get that!!! I'm level 61, and my coplayer is level 37, it's awesome!!
P.S. Yes, I know it's the very first boss, but I ran it because I love the old content. I just hate that it takes about 2 hours to run, even at level 61 with a hunter.

i have this staff, too, and i'm level 61 now. i got it on my first time in gnomer, being run through by our guild master. i will never get rid of it for the same reasons. it's too damn useful!

My shaman happened to get the Hand of Justice from BRD the only time I killed the Emperor on her. Unfortunately, she was resto and has been resto ever since, so I never really USED it. But it'll be in my packs forever.
I also keep my Pendant of Myzrael, just because it's such a stupid item.
Littlemouse Jun 26th 2008 2:12AM
D0 warlock helm just because like AJ, I cannot get it to drop while on my warlock. The mechanical dragonling, trinket to control robots (can't remember the name) and the world enlarger were all fun times too:)_

[Mirren's Drinking hat] Not in my bag. But stays in my bank. I take it out for special occasions. =D

Amongst all my daft items I'm particularly proud of my Romantic Picnic basket. Not exactly just because it's a neat gimmick, but because I got it on my level 1 bank alt. She has no weapons, clothes or anything (except to look decent,) but she has a blue soulbound item!

My two prized possessions are both useless: Brann's Trusty Pick (it's an axe *and* a mining pick), from a quest in Silithus, and the Master Builder's Shirt, from Fineous Darkvire in BRD.

I still have Kang the Decapitator in my bank on my Paladin, as I loved that darn axe.
