Blizzard posts Worldwide Invitational schedule
Blizzard has posted the official WWI schedule on their page, and there aren't a lot of surprises -- lots of tournaments, a few developer panels, and of course the requisite costume and dance contests (no soundalike contest this time around?). The opening ceremony starts everything off Saturday morning at 11:45 (that's Paris time, of course, which is 5:45am EST), and that's when we'll hear about whatever announcements Blizz plans to give us, whether they be new Wrath information, a new Diablo game (cross your fingers!) or a completely brand new IP.One interesting thing is that the Nihilum live raid is an officially sponsored event -- for some reason I thought that, like their other events, it was an unofficial look at the high-end content, but it's right there on Blizzard's official schedule, and will likely be on their stage as well. That's an interesting connection between some of the game's best players and the actual developer.
It's almost here! Stay tuned for Worldwide Invitational news right here on WoW Insider all weekend, of course -- we'll have people live on the scene, and anything we know all weekend long, you'll know too. More details on our coverage are coming up soon -- it looks to be a terrific event in Paris, and we can't wait to see what Blizzard's got planned for us this time.

Bah?

I have this thing against Nihilum being 'corporate.' Heh, sorry, just a personal thing, I guess.

Ok I'm sorry but I don't know why everyone wants Diablo 3 so bad. We already have most of the talents in WoW. You know come to think of it, Wow is preety much already diablo 3. And the diablos weren't even that good. Fallout was way better. I mean unless you really like clicking one button.

When I killed the last boss in Diablo I didn't even realize he was the last boss. I thought I was just fighting another boss in the quest line. I knew that I was getting close to the end of the game but I didn't think the end boss would be so easy. And then it was over and I was sitting in front of my PC with this unbelieving look on my face going "Um... you mean it's over already?" The game was great, but replay value was pretty low once you figured it out. Diablo 2 was better, but nothing compared to WoW. Sorry, Wow is just bigger, more quests, more options, more everything. Even if they made a Diablo 3, I doubt I'd play it just cuz Wow Trumped Diablo 2 and I don't need more than ONE game to obsess about at a time. :D

It'll be cool to see what some of the high-end raiding people do when they go raid. :D (how they communicate, leadership and all that stuff)

Here's cheering for guild drama and breakup. :)

Hahhahaha! Now THAT would be EPIC.

I love WoW, but if they announced a new Diablo I would probably jump ship in a heartbeat.
And if you played the first Diablo and didn't know that "Diablo" was the final boss, then I'm sorry but you must be functionally retarded

ha! It musta had a small nametag or something. The thing I fought.. I remember thinking that maybe there was more than one "diablo" since I knew the word just means devil. I was thinking the boss would be a big bad version of him or something and when it died so fast I was sure that I'd found a smaller version of the boss... maybe a lieutenant or something... and then it was all over. :(

True, but i hardly doubt that Blizz will make this game so epic like the first one...it will be casual....you know the "give me your money" thing....

Good to see that theres gonna be a raid on there, like blizz hasnt forgotten about the hardcore and about the pve of the game.
But I find it a bit annoying, that a raid is the pve big thing while the pvp has no hardcore something, just some broken group duels.
And,Ill miss the soundalike contest.

And the name calling starts.
