Breakfast Topic: What Blizzard didn't announce at the opening ceremony

By now I'm assuming you've read the liveblog or seen the announcement post and heard: Diablo 3 is go.
By now you have probably also heard that there really weren't any other announcements at the opening ceremony. Don't get me wrong, Diablo 3 is awesome. But as much as we're Blizzard fanboys (and fangirls) here, we're all about the WoW first, and we need some WoTLK news to sustain us too -- and we still don't know what that mysterious "next generation MMO" in development is either -- it seems most people are assuming it's Starcraft now though. Me, I'm not convinced. After all, there's a Starcraft game in development too, so it could presumably be either franchise, or simply an updated World of Warcraft 2.
There's quite a few things that could come out about WotLK today and tomorrow, of course. I'm still hoping for an opening cinematic and an official release date to start. While we're at it, how about giving us a demo of the Dance Studio or Barbershop, or better yet, some other unannounced new major feature for the expansion? I might even settle for new skills, talent trees, or even a new battleground preview.
What are your expectations and hopes for news from the World Wide Invitational as it soldiers on?

They're announcing a few things I haven't heard about in the dev panel - I love the idea of the hunter pet's talent trees for one!

Good thing what they released wasn't a cinematic at all then, eh? They did, however, release a teaser trailer using in-game footage.

This was also the first time we've heard anything about Paladins (since they weren't in alpha yet). I like the further clarification of retribution gear requirements (it's going to be in the warrior/deathknight category).
And we're getting Hand of Purity, which sounded similar to Prayer of Mending. I think having *any* kind of new healing spells has been a long wish for paladins, and this sounds like it fits our role of burst-healing/MT-healing quite well.

Wow I almost didn't catch that. Diablo 3 is NOT the 'Next-gen MMO'. Its possible they will be announcing something more as the weekend goes on. But that just re-sparked my insane curiosity I have been going through all week. Thanks Blizzard. I need pills for this ****.

I will be extremely disappointed if no news comes out about the Wrath release date or other solid, teaser information about it (like a trailer). It's sorta like they're giving us all the information except what we really want!

I was counting on Jenny to be my eyes and ears. If my eyes and ears don't fail me, then there was an astounding lack of WOTLK news. For this reason, I think the splash screen drama isn't done yet. That and the video doesn't match up with the screen, except the "eyes"

I've been saying this for quite a while now, but that unannounced MMO ?
HeroCraft, Blizzard's new superhero franchise. They're taking on CoH, Champions, DC Universe, etc.
Just a hunch, but I'm stickin' with it.

Thing is as you've said diablo 3s annoucement is fantastic, but we need to know more about wow Wrath of the Lich King when is it out? I really want to know.
I've spoken about diablo 3s characters here http://www.wowzone.co.uk/2008/06/diablo-3-announced/ not to sure about only 2 races though. ALso this isnt a MMORPH is it? Was hoping it would be.
