These are the two biggest reasons I didn't want to level a hunter besides i find the early levels really boring. 1) I hate the pet point system, and i didn't feel worth it to learn a complicated DPS system when he wasn't going to be my main.I may have to go back to my hunter now.

really, the DPS system in hunters isn't as complicated as every hunter makes out. To say you need macros to get the most out of steady shot, i think, is an insult.at most, all you need is a shot timer addon that shows you the timing of your autoshot, and the ability to hit a key with your finger. slicing in steady shots, or arcane shots is so incredibly simple for me, and i'm kind of bummed they're taking it away, when they could have simply included autoshot timer functionality in the game.the hunter class is already considered the easiest class to play, and yet they're making it simpler? mehYeah, i'm stoked about pet talents, especially if every few levels i don't have to stable up my pet and go tame some random for the next level of bite.. If blizzard can balance the abilities out so that there isn't one clear build for PvE, or PvP then all will be good. Hunters have been crying out for some mechanism to bring back the ability to use different pets, and not suck. if this is it, then i'm cool with it. otherwise we're going to fall in to the same cookie cutter build rut that we're in at the moment - we wont have advanced at all.

@JRBWhat many are missing is that it's _not_ just about making shot rotations easier. This change will make it so that appearant dps upgrades are actual dps upgrades. For example the best dps weapon in the game (up until the parrot of relentless strike badge x-bow) dropped from Fel Reaver, the second best from the wolf in KZ.Even the Illidan bow wasn't as good at them. Secondly, it's _not_ enough to "just put in a shot timer" as implied. At the moment hunters _require_ a macro (the famous /cast /cast 3:2 shot macro) to do maximum dps. This takes advantage of the server-clientside communication and is impossible to do manually. And as other have mentioned, hunters shot rotation is hugely affected by things like latency and personal reaction. This isn't "dumbing" down, this is fixing something that has been an obvious flaw with the class for a long time, and which the class has tried it self to adapt it self to. There will be enough to consider even without it, how to weave in shot's that's on CD with as little as possible downtime, how to manage mana around using multi/arcane/other in your shot rotation etc.
