One of the most anticipated features of the
Worldwide Invitational for us here at WoW Insider was the promise of playable
WoTLK demos, so you know our team was all over that as soon as they hit the convention floor. We got a chance to sit down at a Death Knight demo station for a while, and we're bringing you all the information we got from the experience on how
WoW's new class is shaping up. Follow the links of a look at the gameplay, skills, and talents of the Death Knight:
If you missed the Worldwide Invitational in Paris, WoW Insider has you covered. Check out our complete roundup for articles covering every angle of all the new WoTLK news from the WWI, and check back with us for more features and analysis later today!

In World of Meleecraft I really don't like this, a strong melee class with added anti caster capabilities and strong spells and temporary pets of his own. More so after seeing what was revealed as new talents for caster classes last weekend which doesn't appear to stack up against the arsenal of abilities a Deathknight gets.

You might also be looking at it from a 'Casters get this in the next 10 levels' as opposed to 'Deathknights get this to cover 80 levels'.
We might find out that a couple of these DK abilities suck and no one will use them. Think of how many things you've got in your spellbook which sounded cool, but are rarely used and haven't been on a hotbar for 30 levels or so.

thing is, a lot of the never used spells and abilities are legacy-crap, accumulated over the years this game was developed. With Deathknights everything from 55 to 80 is being put in place now, I somewhat doubt they are making as many and as stupid mistakes this time around as with other classes years ago. Well, if anything their forum will likely be the one who is for the next two years being subject to a barrage of Nerf posts.

Maybe we should start the posts now: NERF THE DK's THEY ARE OP!!!

It would be nice to see the nerf bat move away from rogues for a while, perhaps DK will provide the distraction we need to restealth.
Yossarian Jun 30th 2008 7:25PM
Wait...they nerfed rogues? Really? When? Rogues need a HUGE hit from the nerf bat IMO. Like, they need to fall out of the nerf-tree and hit every nerf-branch on the way down.
(Yes, I'm bitter cause I spent 2 hours last night getting stun-killed by rogues on the Isle last night while attempting to do my dailies)

This was the dumbest idea blizzard ever came up with. As if the game wasn't unbalanced enough - lets add a completely new OP-mode HERO class! wheeee!
imo they should have made more faction-specific classes. (I also didn't like when they gave pallies to the horde and vice versa)

It's a bit too early to be complaining about Death Knights and class balance. Just wait till we have a more finalised version of them and more info on the spells/talents the other classes will be getting.
Classes are always being balanced. I'm sure Blizzard doesn't want to upset the balance too much by bringing in Death Knights.

There's not enough random QQing about the death knights so:
OMG! they get like a full set of gear that matches at 55? The rest of us have to wait till at least 60 to get matching gear. Totally OP.
