I saw VGL when they performed with the National Symphony Orchestra last year. I went in more excited to hear the NSO than to see Tommy Tallarico make an ass of himself but I tell you that show is damn impressive. And never has there been anything more surreal than the National Symphony Orchestra, performing in the beautiful grand hall of the Kennedy Center, flanked by a cloaked and hooded choir providing the choral backing for Warcraft music. And then someone shouts "FOR THE HORDE!" and lo, another joins in.At the Kennedy Center. If anything their show will be getting much better as the conductor, Jack Wall, is also mister "Mass Effect Music", and some games that weren't out at the time of that show have been added to the orchestral setlist, such as Halo 3. Though when I went, Finish The Fight, the trailer theme was their first encore, followed by Advent:One Winged Angel (Electric Guitars and all).Top it off with meeting Sid Motherfucking Meier at the end of the show, and getting your Civ Collection signed for reals, that's a good night.

Okay, I am officially SO jealous of you for meeting Sid Maier. I wish I knew who was coming to this one. Austin is a big area for game dev, so I'm crossing my fingers. Of course, I doubt that the man, the myth, the legend, aka RICHARD GARRIOTT will be there. :(
