Thats crazy to say that a shaman would take the place of a mage with copying just one of their spells. In my opinion the shamman is one of the weakest classes you can roll. So an extra boost wouldn't hurt for the class. I created a shaman back in December and made it to lvl 31. I stopped playing him in January or Febuary and haven't touched him since for several reasons. One in which I mentioned above. Another reason was that it didn't fit my playing style. If you have never played a Shaman, do one thing to confirm what I'm saying look at the skill trees and you will see there is nothing there that makes you want to roll a shaman anytime soon.

Shaman don't really begin to shine until 40 as enhancement or 55-58 as ele/resto. Levels 30-40 are kind of rough for shaman, but life is sweet after that. You didn't play the class long enough to understand it, sorry.
