Shock and awe in the Arena

The four Elemental Shamans, Aelli, Aellei, Aellii, and Aellie, are joined in Team Bubbanaught by Resto Shaman Bubbajingles, controlled by another player. The Shamans are flying high on their freshly-acquired Nether Drakes. The original poster has less than humbly declared that he plans on an even better showing in season four.
Along with many words of congratulations, this thread has its fair share of negativity toward multiboxing. Multiboxers in PvP are often a source of contention. Now, I know that not everyone loves this style of play. But you've got to give credit where credit is due, and this is pretty cool. Congrats Aelli, and good luck!
Check after the break for some video footage of the team.

Hey Wilbur, I think you need to take a break from this game.
Go pick up your check from the welfare office.
Go help your mom clean your room.
Go get coited
But seriously man, this game won't make you a better person, no matter how much you want it to be.
I'd pity you, but I have my standards.

The video is quite impressive.
Can I put forward a motion to change the article title to "Shock and BAWWWWWW" given the delicious QQ in the comments?
@evankimori
"and I do implore: waste"
Implore doesn't mean what you apparently think it means.
Also: PCs, well tuned ones, are always worth the cash, I'm sure he'll be able to put them to good use. And as for the 4 accounts/$60 dollars thing well...to most people who work slightly above minimum wage, 60 dollars a month is rather easy to come by.

No. Team pvp is called "team" because there is a team. One man is not a team, and does not have that unique disadvantages that team communication has, therefore its unfair to regular players, who use their own methods to overcome these communication barriers.
Ganking lvl10-s in Crossroads is legal also, but the majority of the playerbase feels it unfair.
No one said its not legal, its you who are whining about its legality. I said, we said, its unfair, it ruins the point of team pvp, it generally sucks. If you cant feel the difference between fair and legal, hell, why dont you choose a politicans job instead WOW-ing? :p

Aelli's team is two people, him and his healer. You assume they also share a brain?
beaubot Jul 2nd 2008 12:23PM
What's their 2v2 rating?
Jennifer Jul 2nd 2008 1:34PM
Elemental shaman can succeed in 2v2? :O
bumble Jul 2nd 2008 5:57PM
if his skill is so awesome he should succeed

A high end gaming rig (quad core) can run 5 instances of the game easily. Most people pay more for their cell phone plans than a 5 boxer does per month. So the investment not all that great unless your flipping burgers.
Also in my opinion the most pathetic part is the lack of an opposing team who could figure out how to beat Aelli. I mean all the QQ, and one comment on his competition? I mean don’t just whine about it, figure it out and kick his butt! That’s what he wants, and really that’s what PvP is about.
Also I have never considered WoW to be a true test of PVP skill. Most of the PVP was an after thought, hence the balance / exploit / re-design issues that every form of PVP in WoW seems to have. WAR looks like it might be a better option for MMO PVP.
I multi-boxed 5 but only PvE with a mixed group. Why? Because I wanted the challenge of figuring it out. People that have seen my screen when I multi-box say “Information Overload!” and run away. Most people in game are curious and I only have run into a couple haters who just don’t understand (and don’t even try asking a question nicely). PvP puts boxers in the thick of QQ.
BTW If you really want to see the end of multiboxing in WoW, tell Blizzard to get rid of /follow that would kill it quickly. Or make game play more like Conan (actual timed interaction, not WoW button mashing)

I don't find this cheating at all, I don't think this shows the power of a multi boxers, I think it shows the incredible burst that elemental shamans are capable of. If you at all notice the casts are not in perfect harmony, can could easy be accomplished by human players. people saying this is cheating have no idea how multi-boxing works. If you killed his main (the one that all macros and movment are set up for, target of target. its GG, and this can be countered. Just find the one the others are following. Im pretty sure people have seen the boomkin 5v5 video... its the same exact thing.

Multiboxing always brings out lots of emotions.
Boxing is very hard and while anyone can do it, few can do it very well.
Although I will agree that communicating consistent focus fire like a boxer can accomplish is not going to happen with 4 individuals it still can be coordinated with success.
If I was going up against boxers I would fear bomb and focus fire on the lead toon. A good boxer will have something like focus assist and can switch to a secondary toon but most are not very good at this. If the fear bomb works out right you can get a few toons far enough away that they can not be followed back to the main who if lucky is in your favor you have already focus fire killed.
I would welcome the challenge of a boxer as it brings a different element to the game and requires thinking.

I really have a great respect for that guy! Man and don't cry about it, don't cry if you haven't even tryed it. Multiboxing is freaking hard, might be even harder then playing an 5vs5 arena team.
MechChef Jul 2nd 2008 12:08PM
I hope more of you get the opportunity to be insta-gibbed by this dude.
Archenemy Jul 2nd 2008 12:09PM
"Aelli's team is two people, him and his healer"
Sure, so they can enter to 2v2.
5v5 is called because there are FIVE people on both sides. Coordinating five is much more complicated than coordinating two. But we both know this, you just want to pretend you dont, because you hope that i will get bored and move on.
Eternalpayn Jul 2nd 2008 12:14PM
It's 5v5 because it's 5 characters vs. 5 characters.
Sanx Jul 2nd 2008 12:11PM
Amanda,
Could you explain why this is ' pretty cool' and why Wowinsider apparently applauds multiboxing?
Eternalpayn Jul 2nd 2008 12:19PM
Because it's a legitimate way of playing the game? Because it takes a lot more time to set up than playing the regular game?
Why do they applaud the Melee Hunter? It's something cool, unique, and difficult.
Eternalpayn Jul 2nd 2008 12:18PM
Wilbur, your posts are hilarious. Please, keep bitching.
Wilbur Jul 2nd 2008 12:21PM
At least they make sense and are based on logic and stances taken by the providers of the game (blizzard) rather than conjecture and QQ. I hope a few of the more well informed/better players realise Multiboxings obvious potential and give it a try. I sincerely hope all whiners die in a fire/L2Play
Eternalpayn Jul 2nd 2008 12:22PM
Damn, I didn't finish the post. I meant to say the following:
Wilbur, your posts are hilarious. Please, keep bitching. You're making us pro-multiboxers look very mature. /sarcasm
Honestly, all of this fighting is hilarious. Has anyone actually fought this guy, or a multiboxer? If not, shut up.
Raaena Jul 2nd 2008 12:21PM
Sooo many delicious tears!
Seriously...the QQ is strong here!
Multiboxing is a challenge, and it's A LOT of fun. My husband and I regularly multibox instances when we don't want to interact with other players. I'd rather be in an instance with another multiboxer because I'm not at the mercy of some of the idiots who made it to 70...I want to be sure that something is going to die, and that it's not going to be me.
Multiboxing isn't easy--leveling the toons isn't easy. But welcome to the World of QQ...most people who read this site and the forums are quick to b!tch about anything that anyone else does well, because they fail at doing it themselves, or don't have the money to try. Don't knock people's hobbies--you may get off on fapping to the VS catalog, someone else may be into technology and pushing the limits of a game. Whatever floats your damn boat. Multiboxing COMPLETELY changes the way you see WoW. Whether it be in PvP or in PvE--it's a completely different ball park.
But please...continue your QQ...and just to let you know, you can built a very decent $1100 PC and be able to box 3 toons at once. And Blizzard has said REPEATEDLY that multiboxing is NOT illegal as long as the account holder is not botting to control their toons. Please go find something else to QQ about--I'm sure you all have SOMETHING to whine about in concern to Warlock buffs or something.
