That's assuming that no one is a leveling Engineer, as I was when I first entered Warsong Gulch. I had the goggles, Tunic of Westfall, and that's about it. I didn't even know what an enchant was at the time. So sad...
Anyway, to reply to the original forum poster who wrote in defense of twinks, BGs are *not* the same as PVE instances and raids. I could expect as a level 18-20 player to go into Deadmines and make a contribution using gear obtained only by questing. You don't need level 60+ weapon enchants to have a chance against Van Cleef. And I can do the same at higher-level instances appropriate to my character's level. It's not until very high-level instances, heroics, and raids that the absolute best gear, enchants, etc. start to become essential. No, as a new 70, I'm not going to go straight to BT, but I *can* do easier instances to gear me up for Kara that are more appropriate to my gear level, and actually succeed along the way instead of fail along the way! There is a slow and level-appropriate progression and each instance can give you the gear to tackle the next one.
In the world of BGs/Arena PVP, this kind of progression doesn't exist. If a level 19 person leveling through thinks that the level 10-19 bracket is made for him, he's sadly mistaken. It's made for veteran 70s with a ton of gold. What can a level 19 non-twink hope to do to try win some PvP battles or even face a fair match? Just duel random newbies at his own gear level, I guess. It's too bad dueling doesn't have a team mode or any fun rewards.
