Agreed... but people HAVE a chat channel - General. They refuse to use it and can flood trade with worthless crap (murloc jokes, etc) without penalty. This will not change until Blizzard starts banning people for stupid crap in trade. It's similar to the official forums - if you allow everyone to say anything they want, they generally will.

I like your C - make the UI enforce a WTB/WTT/WTS format and don't allow freeform chat.
