Breakfast Topic: Farewell, Midsummer

The Midsummer Fire Festival is just about wrapped up, and all of the quests, lore and drops are going with it. It's sad to see it go, but all good things must come to an end. Daniel asked what you were doing with the time left the other day, but now that it's pretty much done for, have you gotten your hands on all you wanted?My one and only goal for the Fire Festival was to get my hands on Ahune's Frostscythe. I've wanted a scythe on my Priest ever since Warlocks got one as a quest reward back in the day. I probably have pretty much the best guild in the world, because they took turns rotating alts to summon Ahune for me throughout the festival. When the thing finally dropped, we had killed the Frostlord roughly eighty times and we got five Scorched Stones for various people. We have decided my loot luck could not possibly be worse.
How about all of you? Did you get the brazier? The dress? Did you say 'forget it' and blow all of your Blossoms on Midsummer Sausage? Most importantly, did you stock up one these sweet new fireworks?

I'm so envious. I was nice and passed the first 2 scythes I saw drop for my priest to a Lock and Spriest that needed them badly. About 300 kills later, the event has ended and no scythe for my poor healer... But my warrior has one! Go figure.

Highlight for me was sneaking into the capital cities to steal their flame.
Well I say sneaking, a priest and a paladin that ran through with crusader aura on :)
Didn't die in undercity, silvermoon or thunder bluff but it was a death run in ogrimmar. Was a good laugh :)

Sadness surrounds me, the official site says the festival does not end till today, but I thought it meant at the end of the day...
After so many kills of Ahune I never saw a Frostscythe or the Scorched Stone drop. There wasn't much incentive for killing this boss and that's what made it so difficult for all the people who actually wanted to kill him. I just wanted the Frostscythe since I was finally picked for a Figureprint, it would complete my frost Mage. Alas, that has not come to pass and I probably won't get my character printed.

Yeah, I have to agree with Aybara in #4. Running through the cities to snake the torches was the highlight of the whole event for me...other than the 800+ blossoms I collected and used to buy brazier, pet and the fun torches for raids.

I would have loved to get the Scythe on my warlock, but was content to upgrade from http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31140 to http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35497 since I'd never had the luck cloaks in Karazhan for him.
Other than that, I got the Crown of the Fire Festival on all 3 of my 70s, and got enough blossoms to get 3 Braziers, thought that was the coolest little thing to take up a slot in my bags :D
Raiding the fires from the major cities was a blast, had a lot of fun soloing it once and then a couple times as a most the guild at once.

I too am sad. I had 81 blossoms and had calculated that I would get my 100 for the shoulders today, the last day of the festival (5th July, as quoted on the WOW Europe website). I feel cheated.
I've killed Ahune 63 times, seen the enchant 4 times, the scythe 3 times and NO pet. All I wanted was the pet.
Fed up, and sad. If something goes on until 5th July - then it should still be active on 5th July.

Was also fun to sneak into alliance cities. Ate four deaths in IF, and two in exodar, but otherwise did pretty good xD

Yup, I spent them all on Midsummer Sausage. Mind you, they were tasty and helped me get through two levels much faster than otherwise. That, and some fiery brew because it is just neat to breathe fire.

I shouldn't have risked waiting until the last day to buy the food buffs, and thought it was ending on 5th july at midnight, but seems it was the 4th instead :(

The Fire & Ribbon Pole were still up in Shat City. It prob wont disappear until a server reset (most likely Tues Maintenance).
Feel free to use any remaining flower on the fire for buff, or sneak a bit more XP from the ribbon buff.

Wanted to get the stone, but I gave up due to the stupidly low drop rate. Couple of guildies did the same. Some people got the scythe, others didn't.
A lot of unhappiness with how rare the useful loot was compared to the endlessly dropping crappy cloaks.

What type of weapon does it list itself as? Dagger?

yeah.. for about 4 days in a row... we did 45 summons one day.. 50 summons another 30, then a chain of 68 in a row... myself(fire mage), holy pally, prot pally, warlock.... and then we kept switching out the 5th person.. we had it down where we were killing ahune on his first descension... in all that time 2 scyths dropped.. first one went to a mage that we switched out to summon, which really sucked, but lucky for me another one dropped on the summon immediatly after.
However other then me wanting that scyth my pally friend wanted the pet... We never saw the pet drop.. in 193 runs.. and that was just with me.. She ran it multiple times after when I couldnt make it... I felt so bad.. i gave her a firefly i had in my bank.
