Breakfast Topic: Farewell, Midsummer
The Midsummer Fire Festival is just about wrapped up, and all of the quests, lore and drops are going with it. It's sad to see it go, but all good things must come to an end. Daniel asked what you were doing with the time left the other day, but now that it's pretty much done for, have you gotten your hands on all you wanted? My one and only goal for the Fire Festival was to get my hands on Ahune's Frostscythe. I've wanted a scythe on my Priest ever since Warlocks got one as a quest reward back in the day. I probably have pretty much the best guild in the world, because they took turns rotating alts to summon Ahune for me throughout the festival. When the thing finally dropped, we had killed the Frostlord roughly eighty times and we got five Scorched Stones for various people. We have decided my loot luck could not possibly be worse.
How about all of you? Did you get the brazier? The dress? Did you say 'forget it' and blow all of your Blossoms on Midsummer Sausage? Most importantly, did you stock up one these sweet new fireworks?

I feel bad, 500+ blossoms on 3 different guys and I dont get to spend them, Whats odd is that the fires are still in shatt, and the earthen ring daily quest giver is still in TB. The least they could have done is left the vendor up till the blossoms expired.

Unfortunately on my server, Blade's Edge, it was downright impossible to get a group together for Ahune. Either people didn't know what Ahune was, or we could never find a competent healer or tank....

yeah i never even got to kill ahune... all the groups i went with sucked... all i wanted out of this holiday was a scorched stone but no... imo ahune on regular is too hard when pugs have that much trouble...

I did do a lot of accomplishments:
- I got the brazier on each of my characters.
- I stole all 4 Horde flames and got the Thief's Reward hat for both.
- I bought the boots and chests for my main (already had the shoulders from last year).
- I bought the Captured Spirit for my alt.
- Both of them got a tabard from the Ahune-quest.
- I only saw the pet drop once from Ahune, but I was lucky enough to get it! Especially cool since I'm Shaman.
Unfortunately, I screwed up on the ending of the season. I was uncertain when it was going to end. When the 3rd July ended? When the 4th July ended? When the 5th July ended? When I closed my PC Friday night, the holiday was still there, but next morning, it was gone. This means that I had plenty of Blossoms on each of my characters that I could have used on nice raiding food - but now they're wasted. Same happened for my low level other-server Blood Elf who I was hoping could get 100 blossoms for the chest. Also, I didn't abused the 10% experience bonus enough.
Funny, I had seen the Ribbon Pole and Bonfire still remaining in Shattrath on my main-server, so I asked if anyone could make me a portal to Shat on my Blood Elf's server. When asked why, I responded that they were still there on the Arathor (EU) server, and I was told that this was a technical glitch on that server. Apparently, there's a couple of realms where the fire and pole are still there in Shat.

Made enough coin for an elite flyer running all my alts around pissing on fires, and got a 68 alt one full lvl with the xp from the same.
Ahune was just stupid tho. Don't get me wrong. Nice fight and all, but the drop rate on that staff was just over the top. With HH, at least you had every tanker on the server lfging and getting groups. Staff crazy casters didn't have nearly the same luck getting crews they needed for the job.

The drop rate on the scythe was very disappointing. Only saw one drop. It occurred our very first try, and I passed so my husband could have it, figuring that if it dropped the first try, it must be reasonably common. We never saw it again. :( Why does Blizzard do this? Casuals with lives (was out of town over 4th of July weekend) likely don't have time to devote the whole of a short time window opportunity like Ahune to getting something so uncommon. :(
