Sunday Morning Funnies: Of edible size
This week we have a new comic up for scrutiny concerning Blizzcon, a comic depicting the humorous side of the Midsummer Fire Festival, and some pretty aggressive battle strategy.- A new comic has sprung up about the adventures of two 'durids' attempting to get to Blizzcon. It makes use of a bit too much lol-speak for my tastes, but what do you guys think?
- The fellows of Dark Legacy Comics are going to require a Plan B if they hope to reclaim their place on the top of the hierarchy. Also, I am jealous of their murloc action figure.
- On LFG, the gnomes are coming to save the day! This episode actually stands well on its own.
- When stealth goes wrong. NoObz.
- Episode 21 of The Adventures of Disgraph T. Dwarf is A Midsummer Night's Dream.

That druid comic was the worst thing ever, why do people still think 4chan 'slang' is funny?

I'm going to have to agree. That new comic was awful.

Sorry you didn't like it! We mostly started it just for our friends and guildmates, and didn't really expect a lot of people to read it or know about it... and not knowing Doodlebug and Eustashius a lot of the 'funny' might be getting lost in translation... so to speak. In any case, thanks for reading!

Whilst the obvious nod to Alamo teechs u 2 play DURID! is noted the repeated use of Lol speak makes things a little hard to understand, and imo not that funny.

Durid comic: I read the first two panels, threw up in my mouth a little, never looked back...

Sorry to have made you throw up! Take care, though! ^_^

It's rather unfortunate that the pictorial blog that Eust and Doodle made is being put up on the weekly 'competition' of WoW based webcomics.
The natural reaction of readers of this article is going to be to assume that they are looking at challengers to Dark Legacy Comics and LFG. After all, there is a vote section, yes? So it's a webcomic, right?
Well, there are pictures, I guess.
The Road to Blizzcon is supposed to be an homage to "Alamo teeches u 2 play DURID" and the Bing Crosby and Bob Hope Road movies of the 40's.
For people too new to WoW or Druids to know who Alamo is, or who don't play Druids in the first place and wouldn't have reason to have heard of him, or who have no interest in old classic films, it's going to seem like lolcat humor mixed with nonsensical silliness.
Which is a darn shame, since as part of the target audience that knows where this is coming from, and who has been chatting with other Druid players about it... I think it's cuter than heck. I can only hope that they meet a Big Bear Butt along the way...
I really respect the both of them for doing such a great job. Cat is 4 fite!

3B gets it, you just have to familiar with the right silly, vaguely WoW-related web memes to really understand.
However, nothing but applegeeks can stand up to LFG for week to week hilarity.

I agree with 7, its pretty funny when you now alamo and learn2playtree

From reading his posts here, the guy that authors the new druid comic seems like a very nice guy.
But i couldnt bear to read past the third installment. The "trade channel" slang made my head want to explode. Im sure to the right person it may be funny. But for myself it was AWFUL.
Need to go read something more coherent now, like maybe an instruction manuel for a rocket ship.

Aw, man! I was all ready to flame and say how crappy they all were then the last two were good. My troll-fu is weakened.

I guess good parody is beyond a lot of WI readers (and at least one writer).

It is hardly fair to criticize me for not enjoying the fact that something is written entirely in lol-speak. The comic was recommended to me, so I spread the word, but I'm allowed to have my opinions.
That being said, I enjoyed the concept and am looking forward to watching it play out.

You make that sound like a bad thing. I love road to blizz.
