WoW Heroes sets you right at endgame
We've covered sites like this before (Be Imba is probably the one best known), but here's another character comparison/improvement tool for you to use online. WoW Heroes is a site that will look up your character's significant info from the Armory, put it in an easy-to-read format, and then help you check out all your stats, enchants, and gear, and help you find improvements to what you're wearing. It's not as judgemental as Be Imba -- you just get the stats and the facts, not yelled at for not having gems in your sockets (though getting yelled at might be just the motivation you need to get better), but it does provide suggestions in a much gentler way, including what kinds of enchants to use and what kinds of instances to run.And one fun feature that isn't as easy to do on Be Imba is the comparison tool -- you can put in two characters' names and servers and very easily look at both at the same time, comparing item levels and/or seeing where the gear came from. Neat feature, and very easy to get up and running, no login or signup needed.
There is one drawback -- you can't see any characters in the system that are below level 70, so WoW Heroes is only for people trying to find improvements and options in the endgame -- if you're below 70, you'll have to go elsewhere. But as an endgame character improvement tool, it's another good option to use.

i still prefer be imba because of the guild compare tool tbh

I've never bothered with the guild audit because it requires a sign in but is that really all that worthwhile when wowjustsu already does that in the most obvious way possible?
Be.imba is simply terrible with the way it connects up with the armory in a way no other online app is. Plus another thing that bugs me is the consistent way they've always mistakenly inverted their "red" and "blue" bars.

Well, neither Be.Imba (which I prefer simply for uncluttered interface) nor this new one wants to allow for +120 armor to cloak as a viable endgame enchantment for a Holy Paladin's Cloak. I'd love to think of myself as a viable off-tank, and I'd prefer to have SLIGHTLY more threat than the priests...
Oh for the dawn of Wrath. All Holy Paladins will immediately queue up for the +20 Haste to cloak enchant.

They all want you to have the reduced threat one I guess... but do you really need the armour as a plate-wearing healer?

Am I the only one that gets a blank screen when I hit submit? Tried it on a Mac with FF 3 and a PC with IE 7 with the same results.
Michael Jul 7th 2008 2:50PM
Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing... "Boy, this would be great if it worked!"
Thodin Jul 7th 2008 3:01PM
Doesn't work for me either.
Artemis11 Jul 7th 2008 3:15PM
Right, its the site. Tried in FF3, FF2, FF1, Opera, IE7, Safari, Flock, and K-Meleon. All give the same blank screen.

3:45 in the afternoon and I'm getting a blank screen from my Dell PC with FIrefox browser when I click submit. It would be great if it worked.
Natalie Mootz Jul 7th 2008 4:41PM
Nope, didn't work for me either. Vista with either IE or FF3.
Tekkub Jul 7th 2008 2:51PM
Landing page loads, but submitting brings back a blank page... did someone not test their site on Firefox?

I like it, easy to read and understand. I like the find-an-upgrade option as well. Definitely preferred over Be Imba.
Frank Jul 7th 2008 2:52PM
Not working. Must be getting hammered by the massive wow insider audience.
Pent Jul 7th 2008 2:53PM
it's broken.
wowinsider Jul 7th 2008 2:58PM
Mike, please stop reminding me about your shaman. I cringe every time I look at the way you've geared and talented the poor guy.
vlad Jul 7th 2008 3:16PM
wowinsider... crashing servers daily.
seriously, everytime you guys post a website link it decimates that server.
you should be like a real news orginization and contact the poor guy first to let him know your about to release an article about their website and they may experience heavy traffic for the next two days. at least that way they have a bleeding chance to try to upgrade thier bandwidth or server. irresponsible. i thought you guys would be smarter than that.

Well said.
Tatiyanna Jul 7th 2008 3:21PM
Works for me with FF 3.0 and Noscript
Alex Jul 7th 2008 3:43PM
Wow, omg the website got smashed for a few min with HUGE amount of requests from wowinsider, I apologize for inconvenience :( I'm glad you guys like it, I'll give my best to boost some new features asap :D
For example, guild compare is planned very soon, haste, armor penetration and some few more stats too should be added soon. It will be updated each day, so stay tuned, lets try to make it as better as possible for all of us :)
Thanks for support,
Alex

Well if I can't check my toon that's below the 70 threshhold, then what should one do in order to do this and have the result you are talking about? Please don't offer Be Imba if everyone can't stand the site. haha! Thanks
