WoW Moviewatch: Baron Soosdon goes to WWI
Despite the absence of a flesh and blood Baron Soosdon, it was interesting to see the convention from the eyes of a first-timer. If you look carefully at the part where he discusses the costumed girls, you'll see a real live Dopefish, though! Other coverage includes the Blizzard museum, dance and costume contests, and the closing ceremony.
He wasn't able to capture the machinima contest because it literally lasted only a few minutes. In one of the most disappointing displays, Blizzard cited that they had run out of time with the other contests and only showed a few seconds of each winning video. We know that Olibith managed to win three prizes, though!

lol What a geek-festival.
I'm ashamed that I once played this game now that I see who else was playing it.

Unless you have the pics to back it up, this comment does NOT deliver...

I mean, you hate WoW or why do you have to visit this site then?

judging from his other comments, and the fact he never defends them, I'm willing to bet he's just a troll.
/don't feed the trolls

Yeah what you should be ashamed of is that even though you supposedly don't play the game anymore, you read a website dedicated to news about the game.
Moving on...
The Lament of the Highborne part was my favorite bit, especially how the crowd was SILENT! Amazing. Chills down the spine and all that.

Watching the closing ceremony was the reason I googled Video Games Live. It was just my luck that they were coming to Austin on the 11th and 12th! I can't wait! :O

Man, I'm a huge Blizzard fan, and I must agree, I could not fathom going to such an event past the exposition of the games part.
The whole thing, while "geeky" (Which I don't respect how the word is used these days) seems like a huge NERD FEST.
A band called Tauren Chieftain "rocking" it like no tomorrow? PELEASEEEEE. A bunch of people trying to dance and costume up? eh not my cup of tea.
Seems a lot of this would hurt my view of Blizzard games, so I will save my sanity from such in the mean time

I got the full Lament Of The Highborne song recorded from the event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8Fh0MZbRMA (it's on the same shakycam though).

The VGL mini concert at the end of the event would have been amazing - I went to the one in the UK in 2006 and it was awesome.
The Invitational event looked like great fun too - roll on Blizzcon tbh!

I've seen the UK events of VGL 2 years running now. They're always an amazing site to see.
