Real-life, handmade Tabard

I was amazed by the Scarlet Crusade T-shirt tabard (and, you know, for wearability in public, it still kind of wins -- I still think my "custom tabard as t-shirt" business idea is a great one), but this is awesome, too -- Ammana of Dying Breed on my own home server of Cenarius-A was encouraged by her friend to send us this one, and we thank her for it -- she handcrafted a real-life, wearable version of her guild's tabard (you can click the picture above to see a bigger version of it). The crest is apparently hand-embroidered. She says she also made the dress and circlet herself, and the belt was crafted by a friend.
Very cool. Now all she need is those Pauldrons and that big axe and she's ready for some adventuring! I'm actually surprised by how well the tabard works in real-life. In game, it's kind of the least interesting thing on your character -- it's there for decoration, but the real show comes from your shoulders and helm. But when it's just the tabard, it's a much cooler piece of apparel. Not quite enough to start a new fashion trend, I think, but it does look good.

I was gonna say something sort of snotty but it's not her fault I got frustrated with girls who read Harry Potter a bunch of times and own cats and 'Firefly' DVDs.
innajunglestylee Jul 9th 2008 1:30PM
I'm sure girls are frustrated with you as well, but at least you'll always have your witty internet presence to keep you warm at night.
Smurk Jul 9th 2008 1:47PM
Snape dies btw
Gary Jul 9th 2008 2:58PM
It's a shame Smurk won't follow suit.

Nevermind, you aren't even witty enough to come up with a new joke. Three year old memes for the lose. Hey quick, have you heard about "All Your Base Are Belong to Us?" It's all the rage!
Badger Jul 9th 2008 2:39PM
Cats are smart, and often cute - with the exception of Greebo from "Discworld," who was just plain badass.
"Firefly" is one of the best written sci-fi shows ever, and was canceled before its time.
You're usually pretty funny, Smurk, but you gotta come up with some new material. I mean, throw us a frickin' bone, here.

Well I do absolutely love Dr. Who.

"Well I do absolutely love Dr. Who."
Ah, good. Otherwise it would have been time to EX-TER-MIN-AAAAATE!
JacenFu Jul 9th 2008 1:26PM
That's pretty cool! It would be cool to wear one if your guild was meeting at a Ren Fest somewhere.

Funny .. here I am logging on to my favorite WOW insider site and what do I see.
But a picture of a girl I used to manage at a shitty seafood resteraunt. I'm not sure ..but I think I'm the one who got her boyfriend to try WOW out .. a couple of short months later I asked him if he still played and he said No but Ceecee has a level 70 Hunter now though ..
Anyways .. she's a cool chick, stop being douchebags to her .. that probably took alot of effort to make.
Good for her.

thank you to all of you who had kind words about my costume. that is what it is, a costume. unless this were the middle ages, i would not walk around every day dressed like that. there are many reasons for it and quite frankly, i find jeans and a tshirt more comfortable. my thanks to those who defended the costume. it did take quite a few months to make and regardless of what you assholes out there say, i am quite proud of it, as is my guild. sewing is a hobby for me, and the idea to do the tabard and the costume came after a conversation i had with a guildie about people cosplaying wow gear sets. i am not ashamed of my talent or the product i have produced. it is being set aside so i may wear it to a masked ball in the fall.

LOL cc... was that conversation one of the ones we had?? I still want to see if that epic bow can be made ... plus - half the dorks on this website i'm sure will end up at blizz con dressed horribly as their toons - at least we can say ur costume actually looks a lot better than tin foil. :)

epic ghey!
This ren faire crap is on the same level as LARP and cosplay. Totally rediculous.

People who can't spell simple words like ridiculous shouldn't use them. Stick to 3-4 letter insults in the future.
