Wowhead releases Wrath talent calculators
For some of you, it may strike you as a little early to be thinking about your level 80 talent builds - especially given that Wrath is still in alpha and everything we think we know about it may change - but I say, it's never too early to theorycraft. That is why I'm pleased to report that Wowhead, having gotten a chance to play some Wrath at WWI, made talent calculators for the Wrath alpha talents, including Death Knights. Now we can play with our shiny new builds to our hearts' content. Paladins and Hunters have not had their talents implemented in the beta yet, so you won't find them there, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
Inveterate priest fan that I am, the first thing I did when I got my hands on this was make a build for my holy priest, and this is what I came up with: 14/57/0. Yes, I'm finally excited enough about Holy to spec away from Improved Divine Spirit; Guardian Spirit just looks too good to pass up, at least in its current form. As far as my Rogue goes, it depends on how Murder Spree ends up working, but I'm thinking either 21/50/0 (Cold Blood combat, yay!) or 20/51/0. Death Knights I still can't quite get my head around, but it sure is fun to play with their talents.

apparently they were pretty damn pleased with how the huge pulls in magister's terrace went over?

Hm. I hadn't noticed that Vile Poisons had become a 3-point talent, (from 5-points), before this.

That actually makes sense though. Before puncturing wounds, improved backstab was mutually exclusive to using mutilate (unless you were a moron and used backstab AND mutilate). When they changed that around, assassination rogues essentially ended up with a slot to fill up with 3 more talent points, so this should refund at least 2 of those slots.
I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard wants to encourage improved poisons for slower offhand weapons. They seem to want to encourage 1.8 offhand dagger speed although at the moment the math rarely supports it.
As an assassination rogue, I'm looking forward to being even more crit based, although that may sort of suck for PvP

Only 1/2 in Holy Reach? 5/5 in Crit and no Test of Faith?
Blasphemy!
Otherwise good spec =D
0/33/38, New Cookie Cutter Raid Spec, for Elementalist (go go frostfire bolt!!) (and 60/0/11 if you still love arcane)

I love the subtlety tree. My rogue's only 40, but I don't want to reach raiding and have to respec combat swords. But - Shadow Dance + 2/2 Waylay + 3/3 Improved Ambush = absurd killing machine.
My main is a resto shaman. Is Spirit Link designed to mitigate damage for an ally (dump damage from a squishy onto a tank) or to damage mobs (dump damage from a tank onto a mob)? Ancestral awakening sounds like it could be fun.

"King of the Jungle"? What about female druids?

well, my rogue will be a 19/52/0 for sure. i have ocd so i like to have all i can filled up to the max, and this build seems pretty good for me. of course maxing out rhe 3/3 vile poisons (which in bc is 5 points) instead of improved poisons. the way i see it is that if you have all the off-hand talent specs in the combat tree, you really shouldn't worry about applying your offhand poisons. i haven't had any problem with it, really. and of course, main-hand poisons go without saying as well. in combat, i always have poisons applied to my target, but i guess, again, it depends on what your spec is, and that's just me :P
on the other hand, my death knight is going to be used for dps since dps is my niche and the build i made for it was pretty much a hybrid. getting all the dps talents out of each section. it's kind of confusing, really. but i have heard and noticed myself that 18 points in blood seems almost mandatory for a dps knight. i fooled around with the tree for at least an hour and a half before i was satisfied with my personal dps build which is 18/26/27.
reply away!

Dang it! I was sure shamans would be getting spirit wolves (i.e., I knew they were making Drysc be disingenuous about the reasons for removing the tamable ones in Dustwallow), but I didn't think they would make them an Enhancement talent! Drat!
Riley Jul 12th 2008 2:19PM
but really, what other spec would it be?
Syme Jul 14th 2008 10:29AM
Riley, regarding Feral Spirit being an enhancement talent: "but really, what other spec would it be?"
I figured it would be a spell, not a talent, so spec would be irrelevant.
Terrant Jul 10th 2008 6:32PM
So much for that: the talent calculators are gone now, as per Blizzard's request: http://www.wowhead.com/?forums&topic=30827.
