In WordPress, it's not too hard. In my blog I've got a few 'search' boxes on the right-hand side. I place the WoW Head code before the search box code. The user never sees the code, and any item I link to pops up. Kinda neat and simple, really. I'm not sure how it would work with other services, but as far as I know, the code just needs to be 'in' the page anywhere you want the item to pop-up. (Technically, you should be able to put it at the start of every post, if it came down to it.)
