In practice, people just do a couple more dailies rather than go farm their own.
Maybe some people go farm their own, but for the most part people are very willing to pay extremely stupid prices on Arena Points Day to enchant their gear, or on We Just Killed Felmyst Day to get a new gem or enchant.
My sever has a fairly insane market, but it's vastly profitable if you're up for being a supplier or a smart reseller. Some days I can make upwards of 600-700g just by scanning the AH and buying underpriced things. I can't really be bothered to do dailies or farm primals, but I sure can find them on the AH from someone willing to undercut by more than the difference in the AH fees, so I make my money that way. I've got around 22k in the bank, but it's still fun to see how high the numbers can go...
