Common Sense: There is no beta hack
There has been a YouTube video that has been circulating around the internet lately claiming to show how to get into the Wrath of the Lich King beta via a backdoor security flaw. The video directs you to another site, which you then must enter your user name and password that you use to get into WoW. Surprise, surprise: this is nothing but another trick to steal your account. This video has been showing up in links around the WoW community lately just about as much as a certain great music video. This initially caught my attention when it was posted here in our comments a few times.
Since the real beta signups are under way, and access to the beta is expected to begin any time, we were expecting and indeed seeing a large uptick in the number of beta scams. Be sure to protect yourself.

This explains the rash of "Epic Halaa battle pics" posts that have been showing up on all the realm forums today. AVG Free caught the keylogger on the porn site linked nicely.

Why exactly do they use "Epic Halaa battle pics" as a subject for those keylogging/scamming links? Wouldn't people catch on to this practice by now?

@ Thall:
We have. Anything I see with that name is reported in under 10 seconds.

I like to think of sites like this like ports to shat in AV; If you're stupid enough to go there then you deserve it...get your 20 IQ out of my game.

You rick rolling bastard...

I actually got a /w from 'someone' telling me to visit a WoW exploits site. I wasn't aware they started using full accounts now, which is a bit of a shitter really :(

Although I can accept that people are extremely keen to play the beta, I have to agree with Taeous and find it hard to understand how anybody can be stupid enough to fall for such a scam. Giving out your password is asking for trouble (especially when when Blizzard has clearly stated on numerous occasions that it will never ask for it).

I can't believe I fell for that.

I see what you did there, Mr. Holisky.
Everyone recognizes uuiU, silly goose.

People who are dumb enough to give out their password to some fake site deserves to have their accounts ripped off

/sigh I just got Rick Rolled by WowInsider.

Common sense isn't.
