Gallery: Stormwind construction

With the release of Patch 2.4.3 today, construction has commenced at the docks in Stormwind. It's located between Cathedral Square and The Park, at the end of the canals. If you talk to the workers in the area, they'll tell you that they are preparing to bust out the wall to create a new entrance to the city. There's lots of life bustling around the construction site, and here's your first tour.

Orcs haven't drunk blood in years, or at least months, that kid needs to get his lore straight. Yeeeeeesh!
Linkage Jul 15th 2008 8:28PM
That was the reason for their red eyes though.
The Hammer Jul 15th 2008 8:27PM
That looks very sweet.
Bit weird about the lighted barrels though...
Khadan Jul 15th 2008 9:05PM
Hopefully it wont take them as long to build as the poor Inn in westfall. Still doesnt have a roof.
Daeragon Jul 15th 2008 9:08PM
Or that hurin bridge in Lakeshire.
milsorgen Jul 15th 2008 9:20PM

"and here's your first tour"
assuming that no one played ptr or looked at the thousands of pictures of the harbor over the last month.
Natalie Mootz Jul 17th 2008 4:14PM
Correct, vlad. I should've stated "first tour of the live patch."

could this be the wayto get to the new docks for Northrend??? if so a 2008 release may be possible for Wrath...(crossing fingers)
Badger Jul 16th 2008 2:03PM
Dude, no offense, but you really missed the boat on this bit of speculation.
Pun intended.

While i like it that the Alliance gets a harbor and a way to get to Northrend. How are the Horde getting there? This annoys me a bit,
Solex Jul 16th 2008 2:03AM
I think horde is just going to take the zeppelin there. It sucks but eh, I couldn't really think of anything that would work better, they don't have any coastal cities really so no harbors.
Hurode Jul 16th 2008 2:10AM
Orgrimmar is close enough to the coast that they could build a harbor just on the other side of the Zeppelin outpost. I'm sure the Darkspears could work something out if with sen'jin they wanted to, as well.
Elory Jul 16th 2008 3:06AM
thats what i thought aswell... The sea is only 2 mins away from orgrimmar. Otherwise they could build a new zeppelin tower? Dont think its save to have 3 zeppelins landing at the same time on 1 tower :)
I just think it would be nice to give both factions something to look at and see some changes. I think it would be just as weird to suddenly have a new zeppeling landing spot when the alliance gets a whole harbor being build for a couple of months...

The horde have zeppelin ports close enough to cities that they can use those to get to northrend (as it is on the alpha, they'll be using the one outside the Undercity). The alliance has no form of cross-continent transport near to any city ('near' being close enough not to have to fly to it, discounting the Exodar and Darnassus); that's what the habour fixes.

All you wHorde lovers out there take note. The comic book focuses on the Alliance.f_ck the crackhead Blood Elf thrown in for the boobies. The movie will be from an Alliance perspective as already stated by the studio. All the third party material being developed to attract the non-WoW players lean towards the Blue and Gold. Alliance has richer lore as well as in game locations...The wHorde are the second class citizens of azeroth... Alliance gets a beautiful harbor with new buildings, docks, and boats thriving with new life. What do the wHorde get? a new Kodo skinned Blimp. With a brand new goblin who is probably the smartest race on the freaking planet since they stay neutral.

Um... did you actually read the comic series? Yes, it does focus on the return of the King, but it's not painting the Horde as nothing but ZOMGBADGUYZ with no backstory, either (and I'm not just talking about the Blood Elf rogue that's traveling with Lo'Gosh).
Speaking of the comic, it's actually pretty good so far. I recommend giving it a read-through.

My God. And I thought *I* was bitter.

I'm amazed at howq worked up people get over the Alliance/Horde thing. If you don't like the way one of the is treated/looks you do know you can roll a character on the other side, right?
