Toying around with Valeera Sanguinar

Out of all the comic book characters and available action figures, I've taken quite a liking to the spunky Valeera Sanguinar. Sure, it's weird that she fights in the Arenas alongside a Night Elf Druid and the thinly-disguised Human Varian Wrynn, but she's pretty cool despite being stuck in outdated Bloodfang Armor. I picked up the action figure some time back, and even though I have a few quibbles about the toy, I'm looking forward to getting more, particularly Vindicator Marrad and his Hammer of the Naaru. My thoughts on the action figure and close-ups of Valeera Sanguinar in the gallery.

I'm not an expert on action figures or anything since I don't care for them myself, but that one looks really shoddy.

it's the worst looking one by far. i'm completely pleased with the rest, but everything about her is kinda iffy looking.

These may be nice collectibles, but they are NOT action figures. Action figures implies some moveable joints or something that would allow you to use them "in action."

I have all of the series one figures, and in all honesty this one is the most dissapointing of the lot. The sculpting's mostly great, but despite the plastic 'discs' the bloody thing refuses to stand up half of the time. This is due to the bases not being level with each other... And every time she falls that flimsy sword she holds weakens a bit more.
Still, it looks nice when it does stand!

My Valeera figure won't stand up either. :-( Is there anyone here that knows how to attempt a repair? Some way to either bend the legs into a standing position (and make it stay permanently, or build up the base perhaps?

If she keeps falling over expect a broken sword. Took mine about 2 days to fall over and snap when I was cleaning around her.

I thought all this time that this action figure was meant to be the "generic Blood Elf female Rogue" from the "Blood Elf vs. Draenei" diorama and original artwork.
... My life is a lie.

I thought that at first, too. Maybe she's only in the comic because they wanted to make a bit of an easter egg out of her?
For me she's like all the other characters in the comic: uninspired and unimaginative (unless it's jumped about a light year in quality since I stopped reading it). I really don't get tired of trashing the comic, but that's only because it's so easy.

This comment means you're awesome. Seriously.

they could have done a better job on the hair and face. for a "named" figure it looks a little generic. all the other figures in the series had more character than this one.

I haven't seen her outside of her box, but it looks like a rogue that only uses one sword? Is there another one in the box?

i most of these figures (missing human warrior, dwarf, and new dranei pally) and this figure, the only girl, is by far the worst out of the lot. she looks great, except her freaking head!
he face looks absolutely horrible! she does not look like the character in the comics. she does not look like a blood elf from the game. reading your comments about the shape of her face looking more night elf, i can see now that she could have originally been an NE sculpt, but then someone decided to make her a BE. it's hard to tell from the head angle but it looks like her ears go more back like a NE instead of upwards like a BE. she also seems too elongated and tall looking to be a petite little BE. but i could be wrong on that.
as for the packaging, bratz or my scene barbies have solved that problem pretty well by making the back perforated for easy opening. i don't know why more companies haven't done the same to their packaging.
