Beta invites going out

Though this may not have been the case earlier this morning, CM Nethaera has just confirmed that invites to the Wrath beta are indeed going out via email. So if you're opted in to the beta, check your email! I know I will be checking it many, many times today. If you don't get in, never fear; as the NDA has been lifted, we will keep everyone fully informed of all the latest news right here on the Insider.
If you do get in, you'll be asked to create a temporary account using your email and a new password. So be very, very wary of any email that asks you for your current username and password, since this is almost certainly a scam. Also, verify that any links you click are located at worldofwarcraft.com (and not, say, wow-blizzard.net). The scams are only going to come faster now that the beta is really going on, so be careful.
Edit: I should have remembered to mention this. Beta invite is completely random from the pool of people who have opted in.

No invite for me. If one comes along later, and they're transferrable, I'll give it to one of the theorycrafters on the EJ forums - they do seem to care/know more about class balance and the like than Blizzard themselves!

The beta opt-in is totally random according to Blizzard and will come in phases.

I'd love to see an article on here about why you SHOULDN'T play the beta. Am I alone in feeling like I'd hate to play the beta, level up to however much I can, and then just have to do it all over again when the expansion actually comes out?
Plus the more you play the beta, the more jaded and bored with the expansion you'll be when it actually comes out, right? I feel like I'm missing some larger element of the mentality behind beta-testers, and why they'd want to do it in the first place.

I'd kinda like to get in. But I do share some of your concerns. I normally play alliance, so if i got in I plan on playing horde, maybe a DK.
That way when real wrath comes around the alliance stuff will be new.

Those are my sentiments exactly. That's why, IF (and that's an IF on a cosmic scale) I get in, I'll use it to roll a Death Knight. I know I'll focus on my main mostly when the xpac hits.

The only reason I want into the beta is so I can mess around with a Death Knight. I have no plans on playing in Northrend.
