Though this may not have been the case earlier this morning, CM Nethaera has just confirmed that invites to the Wrath beta are indeed going out via email. So if you're opted in to the beta, check your email! I know I will be checking it many, many times today. If you don't get in, never fear; as the NDA has been lifted, we will keep everyone fully informed of all the latest news right here on the Insider.
If you do get in, you'll be asked to create a temporary account using your email and a new password. So be very, very wary of any email that asks you for your current username and password, since this is almost certainly a scam. Also, verify that any links you click are located at worldofwarcraft.com (and not, say, wow-blizzard.net). The scams are only going to come faster now that the beta is really going on, so be careful.
Edit: I should have remembered to mention this. Beta invite is completely random from the pool of people who have opted in.

Well, now I KNOW I will never get a beta key, if it random. Blizzard's RNG absolutely hates me.
How do I know this? Hmmm.. lets see.. 6 months of weekly Kara runs not once did I see the cloth DPS boots drop (there are several). My pally now is closing in on 500 kills of the demon that drops the Repair Bot 110G recipe, still no drop.
I don't even bother doing the random drop quests anymore because it takes me 5 times as long as anyone else to get them.

are you sure your killing the right demon, cause I got it to drop on my first kill, and it has dropped for all my buds rather quickly...

So I got a promise of a beta key for a upcoming Blizzard title and used it. They sent me an email saying that they would email me eventually. Anyone know if it will get me a Beta key to Northrend? Or a timeline if it does?

I am a little divided on the beta. playing the beta is about finding stuff wrong and trying everything. Id love to see the new content but Im not sure how id feel about leveling and then doing it again.
Id probally just go DK to try it and get that out of my system

Really? See.. if I were dedicated enough to help out in said forums, I would have made sure to opt-in as well. So... I wouldn't be able to know for sure.

Because I've already gotten my email, and gone through the steps to create the account, etc. Just waiting on the char transfer right now.. I can log into the beta forums, just can't post cuz the char's not transferred yet. Transfer page says they take about 2 hrs.

i think the whole random inviting is in turn not fair. They should have only accepted accounts that have been active since BC came out. this would have left blizzard with a more experienced and qualified group of people to be chosen from for beta testing, knowing that someone that opened an account 2 weeks ago and opted in and them having the same chance as i do to get an invite when i have been played for 3 and a half years just does not feel right, anyone else agree?

Random invites are just two words to make everyone happy but in trust they are inviting only peeps from beta club, having forum experience, wwi08 etc etc Just don't expect a beta invite comming soon, blizzard is lurking you.

7-19-08 @ 5:05 PM EST, Member of the Beta Club, still no invite :( anyone in the beta club have their invite yet? My account name begins with 'a', not to say that that would help but if it was alphabetical for those picked that had a guaranteed spot, I should be pretty soon. anyone have any other insight?
